I think the more alarming part about that Dark Side of the Ring episode is that they legit thought Scott Hall was dead enough so that they just Weekend at Bernies'ed him and wheeled him out in a wheelchair saying he had a "condition" instead of getting actual medical help for the guy. That is just flat out L U D I C R O U S to me.

Once again I'm not defending Flair, not one bit but I can see Jim's take on this.

Its not a secret that just appeared. Ric flair has probably done this many more times, it wouldn’t have surprised me years ago, and it doesn’t now. How exactly is that me condoning harassment? Well. I'm assuming you weren't a huge celebrity back in the day with a playboy party image for 20+ years when wrestling was still kayfabe, so you had to look and act the part for the business. I'm sure wrestling amongst younger generation wrestlers who look up to you, egging you on also doesn't do any favors. Different world than you or I but everyone likes to point the finger at others, so that they can pat themselves on the back for not doing "that". The irony is that a lot of these people who pat themselves on the back are ignorant of their own mishaps and poor behaviour or attempting to hide it by deflecting any inquiries since they were vocal against "this" or "that". If it truly happened, I feel sorry for her and I hope it did serve as a wake up call for him to get his act together. I disagree with quite a few things with Cornette (AEW related stuff) but I agree with him that I don't believe Ric did it with I'll intent or that he felt she was uncomfortable with it.

Hersey on my part, but I recall a story that John Morrison’s original push way back ended up cooling off because Melina Perez had a fling with Dave Bautista and Morrison’s response was to drop her like a bad habit and never speak to Dave again, which is a pretty level headed way to handle such a situation. But Vince McMahon took the fact that Morrison didn’t challenge Dave to a fistfight on the spot as proof he wasn’t a “real man.”

Ric Flair's best catch phrase that pertained just as much to his actual life outside the ring as the show in it or in his spot interviews was actually started by Arn Anderson. It is "what's causing all this?" Perfect in referring to or pointing the finger at himself. Of course, my favorite is taking a ride on "space mountain" which is a genital reference. Dear Jim Cornette The fact that Flair in his mind didn't see what he did was malicious is the REAL problem. I'm not some kid. "I'M A MAN! I'M 40!" - Mike Gundy. The thing is the vast majority of us over a certain age were taught WRONG about this sort of thing. Guys my age are in my estimates on the tail end of this. I think. I hope. I was taught that slapping a girls ass, flipping up her skirt, peeking in the girls locker room/shower was just good old fashioned mischief, flirting, or the infamous boys being boys. But it's not and it never was. My generation and Flair's and yours generation before me just got away with that sort of behavior because the women on the receiving end were taught the same WRONG things. So they were made to feel like something was wrong with them if they objected to that type of shit, and were and still are vilified if they speak out about it. I'm saying all this to pile on Flair. I'm NC born and raised. I fucking love the Nature Boy. I'm also a Hulkamaniac aka little Hulkster that just so happens to be black. So this ain't my first rodeo when it comes to finding out that some one I looked up to and idolized did some really bad shit. That doesn't change all the joy and fun and entertainment and excitement and awesome memories that they gave me. Just like it doesn't change the fact that Ric is your friend! I understand that, and I don't envy you. Because I have friends who have done really shitty things to others. Things that I do not agree with, but I'm a private citizen. So I'm not stuck constantly being asked or forced to defend them. So I do get where you are coming from. I just hope this gives you another perspective on these type of issues. I dont think anyone is saying it wasn’t wrong. But it was years ago and it’s been settled. That’s more of the thing, maybe she didn’t want to settle but she already has they can’t punish him for the same incident after he’s already been punished regardless of whether he deserved more or not. If she had a shitty husband who convinced her to settle that’s on her, she made a bad choice in a life partner and unfortunately that blended poorly in this incident with Ric Flair, either way it’s been taken to court and it’s done. Unless you want Flair beaten to death in the streets there’s nothing more to be Dorn to him. Sure don’t book him for any more appearances, but otherwise he’s almost dead anyways so leave him alone.
