The scoring was broken the moment Meltzer deviatied from the 5 star scoring system and started to add additional stars. This was nonsensical as you can only be assessed within your time period. A 5 star match in the 1980s was as good in its day as a 5 star match now. Adding additional stars has corrupted the system and is in fact disrespectful to those who were pioneers in their day
