Corny has made a lot of enemies throughout the years and has his more than a few naysayers about him personally but theirs no denying Jim’s wealth of knowledge when it comes to the history of wrestling. Professional wrestling will take a huge blow once he either quits talking about it, due to his own decision or being forced to walk away, or he finally meets his maker. His passion for the business is a unparalleled and it’s awesome to hear him talk about it.

You're right, come to think of it! Because I honestly think without him to offer the kind of scrutiny he does, the nonsensical aspects of modern wrestling will only get worse. Also his enemies only offer vague criticisms of him and s**t themselves and run when asked to be more specific.

@@ButWhatIfItIs agreed. Most of his detractors are usually people he’s called out on their bs. I don’t agree with everything Jim says, he has a tendency to hold grudges over minor things, he’ll be less critical of or over hype people that he’s had a personal connection with within the industry etc…. But you cannot deny the man knows his wrestling especially the history and psychology of the business and above all else he loves it like almost no other human on the planet.

So the $1,708,000 that Texas wrestling grossed in 1952 translates to $19,207,716.83 today.

When I watched WCCW in the 80s it was called Fred Barons' World Class Championship Wrestling. Can anyone tell me if Fred Baron was a real person??
@purofan1754

There was a Fred Behrend who promoted in San Antonio after buying out Joe Blanchard in 1985. Behrend renamed Southwest Championship Wrestling to Texas All Star Wrestling and eventually moved the TV tapings from SA to Gilley's rodeo arena in Pasadena, TX. Not sure how Behrend 's name would've been associated with World Class but I have read that Behrend (when he was partners with Blanchard) sold SCW's TV time slot to World Class behind Blanchard's back which resulted in SCW's show only being available on a Spanish language channel resulting in a downturn in business which eventually lead to Blanchard selling out to Behrend. Were you watching World Class on a San Antonio station by chance?
