The fun thing was that even five and six years later the heat between Ole and Dusty was still there. The year the horsemen formed, you just kind of knew watching that Ole was always going to go after Dusty on sight. What was great back then was that you could have these feuds between guys that kept going - on and off - for years in a consistent way.

What is left out is the moment Dusty and Ole became allies. Dusty had sent out Mike Davis to tell the Assassins that he was in the studio. Assassin no 1 said something to the effect to take this back to Dusty Rhodes messenger boy and gave him a good open had slap and they started to beat the crap out of him. Dusty came running out and the Assassins whipped him too. They got him in the corner of the ring and busted the corner of his eye open. Assassin 1 repeatedly head butted him in the wound. Ole later came out and made a pact with Dusty.

I wish Vince & Ole could put aside their differences & Vince would realize how important Ole has been to the business. Ole belongs in the HOF if for no other reason than this promo. Still one of the best promos ever by one of the best ever.

After Vince bought out WCW in April 1984, Ole had a confrontation with him in the TBS parking lot. VKM remained calm and offered Ole a job with him. "Ole, I'll make you more money than you have ever seen." Deep down, Ole later regretted it.

If you look at the surviving footage you will actually see Dusty Rhodes throw a punch at Gene Anderson who was one of two special guest referees inside the cage--so Ole defended his brother and more importantly, the referee from Dusty's dastardly attack. Everybody cut hot promos afterwards including Dusty, Ivan Koloff, and Assassin #1. The hottest line in Ole's promo was that Lars should be thrown out of wrestling.

Dusty Rhodes is so underrated. He was limited as far as his moves and in ring skill goes. But he could still win you over with what he did do. Some of his matches back in the day are still some of my all time favorite matches. And on the mic... He had a speech impediment and yet still one of the greats of all time.

Underrated? He is considered constantly in top ten greatest of all time lists. He is the literal opposite of underrated. How can someone who is on every wrestling list of Greatest of All Time be underated? Haha. Who else? Ric Flair? Bruno Samartino? Shawn Michaels? Harley Race?

Great promos, but one of the stupidest storylines ever. If you wanted to get an enemy, why not just get them? It's stupid, convoluted and irrational. It's like when Calvin came up with an overly complicated plan to bombard Susie with water balloons. Hobbes suggests just sneaking up on her and directly ambushing her right then and there...Calvin tells him his plan leaves a lot to be desired and a defeated Hobbes states the obvious...his plan at least makes sense. This is one of those stupid storylines a wrestling fan would hate to defend against haters because you cant even defend this against rational and logical thinking. Cornette sells this just like a wrestling fan should, tho. Comes as close as fair as anyone

You honestly think there aren't other genres in entertainment that can't be similarly hyper-analyzed. Take Breaking Bad: How is it possible that Walter didn't conjure a fool-proof cover story for his wife from the start? Instead he struggles at every turn to explain his behavior. And the pre-op relaxation drug is not a truth serum, where you suddenly lose your faculties and reveal secrets. But we suspend disbelief because we're not kill joys...
