Here is a direct quote from Bret's book (that you should read in full). "Stu (my father) had a temper so fierce that some would consider his corporal punishment child abuse. Too many times I limped around bruised and battered, my eyeballs red and ruptured because of his discipline. On more than a few occasions, I thought I was going to die. Corporal punishment was more common in those days. He was a product of his time, trying to deal with 12 kids all as wild and out of control as we were."

That was normal back then. bret was born in 1957. Back then even the school teachers were allowed to beat kids for punishment and did it on a regular basis up until probably the late 70s or early 80s. Back then when doing something bad your parents would whip you like a slave. When i was growing up in the 90s it degenerated to beeing yelled at and one or two hard slaps here and there. Nowadays your punishment is probably you cant go on facebook for a week...

I was hit as a kid, my sister was regularly and secretly physically assaulted by my father, can we stop with the “ah, the good old days” vibes like beating your kids is good for them? I grew up on fucking eggshells and not trusting my own father, “abuse is bad” should not be a debated issue!

I have three Owen Hart ribs that are my personal favorites, my number one being when Owen called Stu from the lobby of the hotel, 2nd one was when he and Davey Squirted Shaving cream all over Vince's back. Number 3 was when he hit Edge with a supposed foreign object which turned out to be a napkin.

One of my favourites would have to be the Val venis one. For those who haven't heard that one, Val and the boys were checking in a hotel and there was fans wanting autographs which was pretty standard, but a guy come up to Val with a stack of pics and wanted him to sign them, Val refused because he was obviously going to sell them for profit so the guy left and Val checked in and went to his room. Owen obviously seen the interaction between Val and this guy, so Owen rang Val's room and kept ringing Val and demanding he signed these pics, the last call "the guy" threatened Val, so Val came down looking for him. Val seen Owen and Jeff Jarrett in the hotel bar and asked them if they seen the guy, I can't remember if they said they hadn't seen him, or they said he took off, but Val went back to his room seething and basically went on his day. The pay off was when I believe edge and Val were doing an interview Owen told edge, tell Val that i was the one calling him in the hotel 😂 so edge told Val and Val said he was so pissed off and now he had to go on and get through an interview 😂
