@@Pensfan5919 I'm sure there were kernels of truth in Corny's vignette. But, he also knew that Shawn Waltman could wrestle. He did some amazing work as the Lightening/1-2-3 Kid. And, could adapt as a face or heel. Maybe not a main event draw. But, he was a very solid mid-card worker. Jim values work. And, Shawn paid his dues for years prior to WWF and WCW. ...So, I can understand why Cornette honed in on the "silly drunk" outside of the ring aspect. WCW and the NWO as a whole were Cornette's targets. Shawn Waltman was collateral damage at the time.

@JaceyMitchell4 ай бұрын
He handled Savage with velvet gloves compared to everyone else because he was really grateful to Randy for putting Smoky Mountain Wrestling over when they had the talent exchange deal with the WWF. Savage was booked to perform on a SMW show and win a match against Bruiser Bedlam. Savage came up to Jim and told him "I'll only be here one night. For Bedlam this is his main gig. Let me put him over." So Savage used his backstage pull to change the booking and make him lose a match against the local talent. That made him earn Cornette's undying respect.
