Growing up watching his performance as Gomez, I never really noticed his accent. But what I have noticed after watching several interviews of him that his natural speaking voice is noticeably thicker- his words heavier in accent. When he acts (especially as Gomez) he sounds so much more smoother. What an incredible thespian💛.

This was hard to watch. This had to have been late ‘93. He had come out of stomach surgery to help him beat cancer. In the following year, he worked on three films back to back with no rest. He beat himself to stay relevant and working in an industry that cares nothing if you are dying. Rest in peace, Raul. I still wonder about the quality performances he would have done in so many more movies and theater productions.

Raúl's English was always spoken with his natural way of talking, even when acting in plays by Shakespeare, and he never said 'Porto' Rico as some others do, it always was PUERTO Rico to him. He is buried about 8 minutes from where I live. 🇵🇷
