I was a a big country fan in the 70s and 80s and knew of Tompall, but no really the brothers. I just never connect or was familiar with them. But last year I came across their melody of hits and was stunned. So sorry I missed all the previous years and probably a few chances to see the Live. Thank goodness for You Tube, I can watch the often. And I do.

Jim Glaser can certainly lay claim to being a part of that Marty Robbins super-hit! It is certainly obvious he has that "Glaser" voice. Glad I found clip. Thanks Jim

Yes..Marty copied the Glaser style on El Paso. Jim Glaser wrote & sang the harmony for El Paso. And..El Paso has the style of Jim Glaser written all over it. Jim Glaser didn't get enough credit for anything though. How many people know that Jim Glaser wrote "Woman, woman"..made famous by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap??

Jim and Joe sang this song together for the first time in fifty or so years when they provided harmony for Ronny Robbins at my book release party for "Twentieth Century Drifter: The Life of Marty Robbins." The history of the Glasers in Marty's band can be found in the book.

@@barbhoschouer8978 Keith Urban is VERY talented!!!!!!! I met Keith once & talked with him a good while about bluegrass music. It was sometime in 2000 or 2001. He was guesting at a Sonya Isaacs concert & I was there with Sonya's dad Joe. I had been helping Joe record a bluegrass gospel CD at the time. I held a conversation with Keith for at least 30 minutes & had no idea who he was. About 10 minutes later he was called up on stage & I felt like an idiot for not knowing who he was!!!!
