The funniest part of all of this, is that Disney owned ERB when they made this "...own the whole series". They're independent now, paying out of pocket and relying on things like Patreon. So if we want to see more, we should head over and throw them some support.
@thtadthtshldntbe3 жыл бұрын
yeah, that was the actual "joke", Peter and Lloyd used Maker Studios for ERB and some of their other work (like DIs Raps for Hire). Disney bought Maker studies and it became or merged into Disney Digital. ERB was under contract with them via the Maker contract. Supposedly this was a bit of a shot at Disney buying everything up. Neither Maker nor Disney ever had any controlling interest in ERB. That belongs entirely to Nice Peter and Epic Lloyd. They left Disney Digital after season 5 and formed their own studio to continue ERB and their own projects. While supporting them ia patreon is nice, ERB makes a ton of money. Nice Peter and Epic Lloyd have a combined network worth of between 5 and 10 million dollars. Most of that is due to ERB and its like 15 million subscribers. My only point of dispute if there is one, is that ERB is not being limited due to lack of money since they left disney.

I never noticed that before... Ok, I got one in return for pointing that out for us: Ever notice what the first four bars of Walt’s rhymes with? ERB won’t say that word, because Disney has been known to sue (for libel, slander, or defamation) anyone who tries to imply that the word applies to Disney. So they left that word out of the battle, even though Disney’s legal battles have put a lot of work into defining anti-trust laws. I guess their two best bars in this battle were unspoken bars.

@@SethLooks Yeah. Disney purchased Maker Studios during that season (Season 4). This video was the Season 4 Finale. So this was Lloyd and Peter's middle finger to Disney as they walked into "The House of Mouse." After Season 5, ERB went on an Extended Hiatus so they could start up a Patreon and acquire the funds necessary to ditch "The Mouse" and go independent. Which they did. When they came back from the Extended Hiatus for Season 6, Lloyd announced that they were "completely independent."

Lol The muppets were as big a part of my childhood as Marvel and Disney so this was amazing! Disney bought the Muppets and the Jim Henson Co. in the early 2000s, and I was so angry they sold out to them! But after Jim Henson's sad (and preventable) death, his children still technically run the company. I guess they were doing what it takes to still be here. *shrug Disney owns Muppets, Marvel, star wars and ABC, just to name a few.

For those who’ve never seen the first season of SNL, it was a slightly to very different show depending on the episode with regular segments dedicated to pre- muppets puppets by Jim Henson, Billy Crystal impersonations and Franken and Davis sketches. Ready- For - Primetime- Players were almost afterthoughts in the show until people wanted more of them and less of the other stuff. The only thing that’s survived from season 1 is the musical acts and the RFP players.
