I've always loved this song, reading it as a post-breakup song. Sunday, my gf passed away in her sleep as I slept next to her. It hits harder and in a different place now. God Bless the Virginia Boys

Very true about Joe. He was an excellent fiddle player. Joe recorded an album with the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys. I was there when they recorded it. Heck of a snow storm! Someone came in from outside and said, "Who's car is that out there? It's parked on the train tracks and the train will be coming through here in about five minutes." It had snowed so hard you couldn't see the tracks. We about didn't make it there for the recording. Slippin' and a slidin'.

I seen these guys around 1970 when I was a kid perform standing on a flatbed truck in the parking lot of a P.N.Hirsch department store in Pacific ,Missouri. Got to see them and meet them years later on the Opry,Bluegrass Festivals. Talented brother duo.

A great song by a great Duo! THIS is Bluegrass! I first heard it done by the Bear Creek Boys of Santa Cruz, Cal., and went out and bought the recording by Red Allen & the Kentuckians. So good!

They did this song for us in Darrington, Washington - up at the schoolhouse. What a concert! Few bands are as good as their recordings, but Jim & Jesse may have been even better onstage as in a studio.

Isn't that Joe Meadows on the fiddle? He was a good friend from West Virginia. Recorded and played some with the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys.

I think all the covers they did of the louvins are better. The louvins are great, but I personally think Jim and Jesse cant be beat.
