For everyone that's saying why would they wear purple. Purple City was Harlem Gang that ran the streets of Harlem way before the bloods ever came to the East Coast. The Purple City gang wore nothing but purple and had all their foreign cars painted purple. Jim and Dipset was just paying homage to them being fellow Harlem natives. There's a documentary called Hell Up In Harlem that highlights the Purple City gang that once made millions in the streets of Harlem. Hope this clears of the confusion.

From the deep recesses of my memory...a Flash game I played in the early 2000s had the instrumental to purple city bird gang without the overlayed drums and the maraca sounds that you hear on the beat, just the naked repeating ah ah ah's...the game was shitty AF with some castle and you had to launch catapults on a green hill to get over this castle wall (there was barely any objective or point to it at all, but I stayed for because the background had the ah ah ah's playing the whole time). Just to be clear, the grey castle was on the left side and took up 1/3 of the screen and the green hill was on the right side and was maybe 1/5 of the screen, and i remember a gremlin looking dude that popped up in the middle or left of the screen when you did some shit as well (no jump scare, just some feature that you cleared a level or something)...the beat was surreal when playing the flash game and even more surreal when I heard it for that record...I've been trying to dig up that flash game ever since like 2004 but I can't find it at all nor do I remember what site it was from, most likely addicting games or even newgrounds....it was like a featured or new game they had on their website, but the game was straight ass, yo the only reason that I held on to this memory for this long is because every time they rhyme the word "barbarian" in the song, my mind immediately zooms back into that memory when I was playing that game, like damn, lol I played that game one time, moved on, and didn't think much about it, but then when I heard the song come out, i was like, yo, i need to find this game again, but I played so many Flash games that I didn't know where to begin...that infectious ah ah ah's came up almost immediately when you hit start on that game, and i'd like to imagine that the engineer or somebody was burning time playing this game and someone else thought that they were making a beat, so they just made that into a beat on the spot because dipset at that time had spitters who were rapping to every beat they got their hands on I was gonna just post it here to see if anyone can dig up shitty castle flash games (before adobe discontinues their shit) and try to find that Purple City Byrd Gang sample, lmao
