In his younger days, Canelo Alvarez started his career in the welterweight division. He has fought in the welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight, Super middleweight, and light heavyweight divisions. Alvarez won multiple national titles in the welterweight division and eventually moved up to middleweight. THAT IS MIND BLOWING. Ppl who dont know nor understand Boxing don't Understand...

He's proven himself but the issue is when you have the title of "p4p" fighting the top names automatically comes with the territory! Thats the equivalent of Usain Bolt not wanting to race against the top sprinters who could potentially beat him and only wants opposition who are not in his league. A bunch of boxers were stripped of his belts for less than that. , Lennox Lewis were stripped of is WBA & IBF refusing 2 fights. Larry Holmes - refusing to fight No1 contender (WBC), Leon Spinks - refusing to fight Ken Norton (WBC), Marvin Hagler - Failure to defend title (WBA)... recently Terence Crawford Stripped of IBF Welterweight Title For Not Fighting Jaron Ennis, Jermell Charlo stripped of WBO ....

First of Lampley was the one saying hasn't Canelo done enough instead of people acting like he's the one with something to prove. And he said the same thing in other interviews. Marcos was the one prodding even suggesting Canelo should give up his belt when he doesn't even have his mandatory due with David only taking the actual title eliminator within this past year despite their lying about it. Despite that, even team Benavidez acknowledged Canelo sent them an offer but they rushed to fight Gozdyk and DAZN's Hearn said they sent team Benavidez an offer too but they wanted to dictate networks, and David himself said he'd refuse to cross the street to get it done. Anyway, Lampley suggested if fans weren't happy with Canelo for whatever reason then maybe they'll turn and root for David instead as he takes on the big fights, but that's the thing, David isn't trying to do that. There's a large Mexican fanbase out there all this time that David could potentially tap into but he flat out refused to do the work to build himself up. It was David who refused to handle any business when he was champ, twice dumping his belt while never fighting backed up mandatories Callum Smith and Yildirim and publicly ducked a Plant unification, along with rejecting a 175 title shot even after being stripped. But through some backwards logic, people are complaining about the fighter who took all the fights David ducked and doesn't even have his mandatory due with the biggest question being which undefeated champ he'll face next. Even to this day Benavidez isn't even pretending to be anything other than a bottomfeeder holding out for the cash out (on his terms). In a recent interview he rejected fighting Morrell even though he'd be one of the few fighters with upside and size he ever faced, saying he shouldn't have to take fights like those since he's not a champ and said Canelo should be the only one fighting Morrell when he already took all the other fights David ducked.
