Jim Parsons on "A Kid Like Jake"

The star of CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" has a new role in Hollywood: producer of the film "A Kid Like Jake," in which he stars with Claire Danes and Octavia Spencer. It's the story of a New York couple who are trying to get their four-year-old son in a competitive elementary school. They face a challenging question: should they reveal their son prefers Cinderella to G.I. Joe? Richard Schlesinger of "48 Hours" reports.

Just watched this movie on Hulu. It should have been titled A Kid Like Jake's Parents. The movie had its' flaws but I thought Jim Parsons and Claire Danes made the most adorable couple, so in love with their child and each other!!

My sister and I watched this movie, and I kept falling asleep. It was so slow moving and lacking story, that it was torture to watch. We were expecting a story about a transgender kid, who goes to school and is rejected by his peers and what his parents do to solve the problem, but instead, we got parents trying to place their kid in a school, and hardly saw the kid at all. The writing was not good, and it made the actors acting seem weak and lifeless. I did not feel any couple chemistry at all , between Jim and Claire. They could have been playing brother and sister, for all the passion they showed. And the idea that parents wouldn't think something was amiss if their son was constantly in girls clothes, and wanting to be a princess , is beyond ludicrous, especially for a straight dad. I really think a better story and script was needed.
