Jim Powers discusses which were the most commonly used drugs in pro wrestling. Stream New Shoot Interviews 📺 TitleMatchNetwork.com
Originally produced by RF Video Inc in 2013. Licensed for distribution on Title Match Network.
Former WWF/WCW star Jim Powers reveals the daily routines of some wrestlers. Jim wants to reiterate this was NOT for all the wrestlers, just some that he shared the locker rooms with.
Powers tells us what the wrestlers used to take before go to the gym, before and after the matches and while traveling. Constant pain and the grueling travel schedule make using some drugs a necessity to get through the day.
Just to be clear, we are talking about caffiene, ephedra, sleeping pills, xanax, samos and whatever else was needed at the time. Not everyone used these but to many it was a way to survive the day.

He’s describing what we called an ACE stack back in the day. (Aspirin, Caffine, Ephedrine). It was the original pre-workout supplement.

Great insight from Powers here. Sounds terrible though, no wonder so many have died from heart conditions. Wrestling is a brutal lifestyle!

I was on the outskirts of that, local level on weekends. I found out really fast if I wanted to buddy up to the “legend” that was in town for a week, get to drive him around and share a few meals I had to be prepared. They’d let you know what they needed and if you could get it together the weekend was awesome 😂 From the time I was 16 setting up the ring for local shows (1994) until about 05 I spent every weekend with the guys I grew up watching on Continental Championship Wrestling aka Southeastern. Some I never saw take on pill. Adrian Street and his wife Linda never even drank around us. But the other guys 😂😂😂 They did AtoZ. This was during a time when online pharmacies would send you 180 Lortab 10’s and 300 Somas for $200. Things eventually weren’t fun anymore. Just dark. I’ve been clean 8 years. Almost ruined my life because I wanted to play big shot.

No wonder Paul Roma had issues with Jim Powers when they were teaming. Paul was straight-edge and a no-nonsense guy while Jim is always under the influence on booze and drugs. I'm a fan of both though.
