I love JIm Rickards, the guy is one of a kind. He talks about having 30% allocation to cash though, this is not going to fly with younger generations. They are not buying bonds or gold either. A lot of younger people are interested in building , specifically in the cryptocurrency space. I wish Jim would talk more about these changes. Even older people are starting to think more about cryptocurrency. Seems like a pretty big deal.

I thought the idea is to take cash/fiat currency out of the banks and exchange it for precious metals etc. So why is Jim saying that cash is a valuable item to have when we know that the Fed is devaluing it all the time by continual printing and handing out subsidies etc. When the stock market crashes and the banks foreclose how do you get your cash/fiat saving out? Thought we were told to get it out of the banks control and hold it in private vaults with your gold and silver holdings.

@@thomasbirchmeier7924 with every nation in the same boat currently, and also as seen through history, the answer the "Government" sees is to print themselves out of debt and place a crippling inflation or in some cases hyper inflation on the citizens. We're ruled by corrupt millionaires, modern kings and queens. How many "trillion dollar coins" do you think it would take to solve the debt. You could hold them in your hands. This is why corrupt governments always resorts to fiat currencies and then inflation and finally a demise of the fiat and state that uses it. Since everyone is made poor other than the corrupt politicians who can move to another state/nation/country, whatever you want to call it, and live the same millionaire lifestyle. While the people suffer fight and starve. If the millions don't hold these thousands accountable it will never change. And people are too complacent and naive. So it will likely never change.

I used to buy Rickard's every book and largely buy into his beliefs. However, more recently he has said the Austrians don't know what they are talking about, which is very questionable. Their predictions are longer time frames, and history bears them out. Also, he's always selling something self-serving. Here he is naively ASSUMING that the U.S. still has its gold, contrary to many many gold experts--and human nature. There are spooky indications to the contrary. Our gold has not been audited since the 1950s, and the paranoid U.S, which lies about everything, and refuses to any efforts at transparency, is highly suspicious. His "collector's item" book The Big Drop, has 81 volumes selling on Amazon for as low as 36 cents today. That is essentially worthless, because who would bother to get out of their chair and process a sale for as little as 36 cents? Finally, Rickards appears to be overlooking one brutal fact: the U.S. government cannot fund itself without printing money to do it. That will never end--the Austrians are correct.

I also have bought every book by Jim and have the utmost respect for him however I have watched every interview he has done for the last two years and he has been predicting deflation not disinflation. He is clearly changing his mind but refuses point blank to admit he was wrong on his immediate deflation thesis following the pandemic😂😂 Having said that, in the new great depression he predicted deflation followed by very high inflation.

@@HowardARoark Generally speaking there are deflationary forces always present in the economy such as demographics and technology, those tend to bring prices down although in an inflationary environment like we have today they are not the strongest. My understanding is we will have inflation until we manage to reduce our debt to GDP ratio subtentially and that could take a decade or more according to people like Russell Napier.During that time there will be a few deflatikonary and disinflationary event but overall it's inflation which will be very obvious in energy, food and housing prices.

I was enjoying this until you came out with the comment US has 75% of reserves in gold. You mean Paper traded GLD. Not physical. Hence the push down in price and also other countries starting to buy more and more. Because they know if the price of gold gets pegged against its true market price. These outside countries to US becomes very powerful.
@markvoelker6620
@markvoelker6620 2 жыл бұрын
I would like to know how he arrives at his 75% figure. Assume the US Treasury really does own 261 million ounces of gold. At a market price of $1,800 per ounce, that is worth $470 billion. The Fed says on its FRED website that the M1 “money” supply (M1SL) is $20,080 billion. Dividing: $470/$20,080 = .0234 = 2.34% How does he get 75%? Does he assume the US holds $15 trillion worth of gold? At today’s price, that would be 8.3 billion ounces (260,000 tons) of gold. Or perhaps he assumes the real, unmanipulated price of gold is $57,500 per ounce? Or,…??? What am I missing?

You’re being too literal. When they embark on a QE program they aquire treasury and mortgage assets with new dollars conjured up digitally. Powell said this on 60minutes. Yes it’s true they don’t control the actual printing of physical cash. But that’s just a nuance of the law. They still create new dollars digitally.

There are lots of ways to counterfeit money. When your telecom claims you owe 100.00 instead of 20.00 they dog you along and add on fees etc. If at any point you walk away from negotiations they win. If you pay 20.00 and tell them your paid up the 20.00 is still considerded partial payment on full 100.00 bill. When it's sold to collections for .50 cnts on the dollar your telecom claims a loss on an artificially inflated charge. The collection agency then attempts to claim full amount plus fees eventually claiming loss ( write off). I wouldnt be surprised if the same people owned both entities as it's quite a racket creating monies on the back of the consumer. Avoid contractual agreements with these corperate entities at all costs as the laws are permissive to their bending/violating contractual agreements. It's too bad their corporate charters are not being pulled.

@@Mkundera Gold is highly manipulated by bankers and governments to try and hide inflation. One day soon Gold will breakout and you'll wake up to see Gold up +50%, in this decade it will like get over $5000+ per ounce even with higher interest rates.

If you took Jim’s advice for the last 10 years, you’re way way behind… Gold has failed to even keep up with REAL INFLATION RATES too, especially in the last year under record setting money printing, it’s done even worst than holding paper fiat USD…. That’s bad.

I like listening to Jim but financially he is wrong on almost everything. People would have lost a fortune listening to his doomsday speeches the last two years. Buy gold that went down while assets hiked 30%

Lady host , when watching this presentation, I can see that you are a very pretty woman, but what have you done to your face? It appears that your cheekbones have been puffed up to extreme which indicates a plastic surgery surgeon had gone overboard when working on your face... Otherwise, please know that there's no doubt that you are a very beautiful young lady.
