@Michael Jagger Exactly. There are fans, who'll scream from the rooftop about Owen, about the countless wrestlers who've been screwed outta $, or left with no help for healthcare. @@MaelstromEnergy Triple H also had the option of 1- not being with someone who had more demons than one person can handle. 2- Having loving relationship with a woman who wants (not needs) him & 3 children. 3- The wrestling business is a travelling roadshow where you are on the road 260+ days a year. Its an industry where wrestlers have multiple relationships with others within the industry. She would have been upset with any woman he hooked up with within WWE. Fact is she would have kicked off against any talent on the roster, and with her leverage, would have got that talent fired. What upset her was stephanie is untouchable. Fact is Chyna needed help, and any how he would have left would have sent her into a tailspin. If they were together and he cheated, thats terrible. But the marriage vindicates his choice. Also, from the inconsistencies of Chynas accounts on certain stories, we dont know if Triple H broke up with her (and moved straight on to stephanie) or cheated on. It was not up to Triple H to heal and save Chynas life. Ultimately thats on her. Same as if she made a suicide threat thatif Triple didnt take her back, she will kill herself. That wouldnt be on him either.

This was pretty much the end of Chyna’s career in sports entertainment. She was betrayed by Triple H and Stephanie and no matter how Ross tries to rationalize it was fired because Triple H and Stephanie didn’t feel comfortable having her around after they betrayed her. You should have top comment for the insight you gave. I wish more people saw it that way. The thing that gets me is Chyna was a once in a generational lifetime female talent and had the look and prowess to back herself up, and not getting her $1M/year contract was in my opinion not a good move. She would have easily topped any woman on the roster. That $1M would have been a very good investment.

This has got to be the daftest managerial logic I've ever heard. Her partner was cheating on her and was clearly struggling mentally so the best option is to fire her to save HER that hassle. Do me a favour. What she needed was empathy, understanding and support from her employer (really not much to ask) in a difficult time in her life. Not be punished for something she didn't ask for. This is typical WWE behaviour and puts yet another spotlight on how poorly they treat their 'staff'. As much as I like JR, he completely fucked this up and (albeit harsh to say) played a massive part in her down fall and death.

A million is how much Sable got from playboy. I think Hollywood talent agents got into her head because she was projected to be in Terminator 3 and other action projects, so her asking for 1million would have been realistic. Especially in negotiations were you start high and work down. Essentially Chyna priced herself out of a market because she wanted to wrestle men not the women and was too niche for the market. Add to that the acrimony of the relationship break up and fall out and storylines, easy to remove an expiring contract than please someone who was clearly unhappy and wanted to move onto Hollywood.

With Chyna's emotional issues, is there any way to justify even with the money they have now keeping you on payroll for possibly years in hope she get over it? I mean this obviously made her problems a hell of a lot worse, but she had a lot of issues in the first place. I love Chyna huge fan of hers but man.. I don't know if she ever would have gotten over it completely or enough that wouldn't be an awkward situation. It reminds me of when Conrad and Eric Bischoff we're watching the WWF Invasion and Conrad pointed out a lot of people thought they should have waited another year until the other contracts came up and Eric pointed One thing I never considered but the other one's kind of an obvious problem with that 1. I guess you could do that, but that means you got to start paying all the guys that that are coming over the company now for a year without being on TV, the company being bought with fresh in everybody's mind if you wait a year it doesn't mean quite as much 2. after that year even though they did come over eventually, what guarantee do you have that those people are going to sign with your company? You can wait a year and none of them decide to join or decide to go and work in Japan or something. You would be taking the steam off the story based on hoping something would happen.

But didn’t they do that in a sense? She was made an extension offer with a raise on her downside that she declined because she wanted to $1M base downside. And even when she was sent home around May or June 2001 she was still kept under her contract through the end of November 2001 when it expired where she was paid and continued to be paid her royalties for the years that followed. So that was five months or so. And as he said if she wanted to return the door wasn’t outright closed. She also wanted to pursue the other roles and endeavors. It’s not solely fair to say that they didn’t give her any chance because they didn’t agree to give her the $1M downside base for her. Her not trusting the incentive pay scale is understandable but people thinking that they didn’t give any chances because they didn’t grant that request and the increase to her downside extension offer and the five months she was able to stay home and be paid out her existing contract, and she likely could have come back to them and said she would like to stay, wasn’t giving any chance isn’t fair. Her sister who spoke about things that were confirmed true said that a few years following the events Chyna told her that she regretted handling it how she did and not accepting their offer. Because sadly not longer after she had left she started doing things that basically took her chance of returning away.

Wrestling will be around forever, because fans are marks and will believe anything. What happened between HHH and Chyna was PERSONAL, it wasn't WWE's responsibility to interfere in their love life. Stephanie didn't steal anything, can't steal someone's man if he wasn't already looking to be stolen. And no way in hell was she getting a million dollar a year downside. Do you guys even listen to JR? Or just automatically side with Conspiracy Conrad and the almighty word of Dave Meltzer?🤣

I don't normally leave comments but I have to on this one. I broke my wife's heart a little over a year ago and I hated myself for it but also knew I couldn't fix the mirror I had broken. I couldn't put it back together so I left and we ended up divorcing last spring and she killed herself last August. Broken hearts are hard to put back together just like a broken mirror. People can say I must not have loved her but I did and that's why I've been ate up with guilt since the day I left. Now I have to carry the weight of her death the rest of my life. Everything we do has a domino effect and good or bad those dominoes will keep falling to the end. I wouldn't wish the feelings I'm going through on anyone. She was beautiful and wonderful person and the only person I ever loved in my 45 years. We knew each other since the 3rd grade and I was a life long bachelor that can't have kids so when we got married in our late 30's I finally had a family. Something I never thought I'd have. Then one day I let my weak mind take over and made the worst mistake of my life. Hearing JR talk about Chyna kinda hits home with me. You never know where dominoes can take us in life. My one mistake led to me everyday visiting the grave of the only woman I ever loved and not being able to move on now. It took longer for Chyna but alot like my wife I think the dominoes from her heartbreak led to her death as well. It's obviously a no brainer.i lived most of my adult life never falling in love and living that bachelor life and from out of no where boom it hit me and the power was unstoppable. Such a double edged sword. I feel bad for both sides of this story. Sorry for my long comment and I wish everyone a good day. Thanks

I see both sides. Chyna wanted to leave to pursue bigger opportunities, but more importantly, her career lay in the hands of Stephanie and HHH. I loved Chyna. She was a one in a billion. I believe she deserved a fat paycheck. It's a shame they couldn't make it happen.

There are two people you got to give respect for when it comes to Chyna during and after this time. One shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone would do something like that, the other one is somebody people love to hate but he deserves respect at least as a person for it. 1 Road dog. When this happened with Hunter and Stephanie, He put himself in a really hard position and sat in a chair in her hotel room to keep an eye on her all night while she cried on the end of the bed Criticize his writing etc all you want I agree with you probably on 99% of it., but in this situation I salute him as a human being. 2. Vince Russo. When Chyna's life went into the toilet, all her friends and all her family abandoned her. The one person who kept in touch, was there for her to talk to when she needed someone and looked out for her was Vince Russo. Regardless of anything else, I will always give him massive fucking respect for being the only person who didn't abandon her, stayed her friend and continued to care about Chyna when nobody else on the planet gave a crap about or wanted anything to do with her.

@@901stinababy no that was Chyna on Skype or whatever with Vince Russo doing like an interview and they were discussing it. I'd add Foley & Stone Cold to the list. Still not a long list, but I always give props they were supportive. Mick Foley seemed to keep in touch with Chyna a bit and there's even a vid on here where she spent the afternoon with his family, who seemed to love her. And there's also a vid where he's at her place & reading comments from her fans to her. Stone Cold wasn't a bff or anything, but he & Chyna got along as co-workers and he talked about how they both shared a weird sense of humor that only they would get. He thought she deserved to be in the HOF and he & Mick were working with her former manager to get her into rehab while she worked on her documentary but she sadly overdosed while they were getting things together,. Stone Cold talking about how he felt when he got the phone call was heartbreaking.

I don't know if Stone Cold and talked to her in a long time I can't remember her ever being on his podcast even before her death. One thing I want to argue is, you watch all of Joanie's family members and people close to her, they'll tell you she was forever haunted by Paul Levesque because she forever viewed him as the love of her life. Her other relationships never panned out, she never married. So JR's reasoning he explains, be it the truth or bullshit he came up with after the fact, was it wrong? All of that doesn't even include how Stephanie played into the decision.

Wwe dropped the ball on Chyna knowing what we know now.... She should have been retained and put in wwe created films they could have made her a star themselves. She had that emotional baggage till she died. Yeah she hooked up with Sean Waltman they had a relationship but they were both out of their minds on drugs and stuff at the time, she had a relationship with some dude was pretty much pimping her/ a leech who was using her when she was on Celebrity Rehab. Had she not died and managed to clean up her life maybe years later she could have gotten over it enough for she could have gone back, but keep her on payroll until then or in the hopes of that she might.... they were willing to work with her, it just wasn't going to be a good situation for sure. This is how I know people have never experienced that kind of level of heartbreak. To assume that WWE could have fixed or nullified the level of heartbreak Chyna was feeling is so fucking dumb. That level of heartbreak went into despair. Nothing on the business side of things would have fixed something on that level. People have no idea what they’re talking about. Very bold of people to assume that WWE can fix everything, because they’re a multi-billion dollar company. I actually find it rude that people spew out these hypothetical scenarios where “WWE could have done this” or “WWE could have done that” it comes off as downplaying the severity of emotional and mental issues she was having. You can still come across as rude, even when you’re defending someone.
