I disagree. Wrestlers showing up in their own dress adds to the personality and mystique of the wrestler. Stone Cold Steve Austin showing up in jeans and boots and a vest enhanced his "redn3ck" persona.

It would be nice if wrestlers dressed according to their mystique. The reality is that a lot of wrestlers looked like S during traveling and this is what Jim Ross is talking about. I agree with Ross on this one.

Edge and Molly made a good point about travel accommodations also improving public perception. I don't think business casual clothing is going to make any of the wrestlers look better if they're still driving their own cars or getting cheap airline travel. Ric Flair was also given money to spend on the suits, travel and fine-dining, so I wouldn't say he's a shining endorsement of a mandated dress code.

I have to agree with Molly Holly. If you want to force your INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS to dress a certain way to look "more successful," then the company should be willing to shell out a little more money for individual LUXURY rental cars and first class airline accommodations. But I see how it is - Vince is all A-OK with making the talent spend their own money on nicer clothes, but he's unwilling to spend a little of his own to get them better travel accommodations.

I would quit a high paying job if someone tried to control my footwear. Let me wear clean jeans and a polo shirt with sneakers or find someone else. Since I got out of the military I decided I needed to wear easy comfy clothes. Polo shirts are a great balance. As easy as a tee shirt with a touch of class. Jeans can be warm or cool depending on the thickness of the denim. When it’s cold out I ain’t wearing dress pants. As far as shoes.. most important is the footwear. Dressing your feet to look pretty can have life long health effects. I don’t need your job I can grow my own food and enough surplus to cover property taxes.

There are a whole bunch of working people in America earning a third of what the talent were paid that somehow manage to show up for work at a call center or other office setting away from customers view. They can handle going business casual. You have to understand that I am part of the last generation that dressed in what today’s business world calls business casual just to fly across the country for a vacation or something.

No thanks, all money isn’t good money!! I don't get this dress code. If the company enforced a dress code according to a gimmick, then sure. Have a "high class" character start dressed up while traveling. If the character is trailer park trash, make them wear pajama pants and a wife beater. If the character is a working class stiff, blue jeans and boots.
