Jim Stafford with flashes of his brilliance on the very difficult Malaguena. At age 73 most of us would have trouble putting a phonograph needle on a record player, myself included. Jim stated that Roy Clark is one of his heroes. I concur. Along with the late great Glen Campbell, can you find a greater trio of Southern pickers? Full disclosure: I love Jim Stafford. One of the finest and most talented artists in America. I drove 16 hours to catch two of his last shows this year. I would do it again. Thanks Jim!

Jim Stafford is one of the, sadly, few true American icons we have left today.. Like Roy Clark who was immensely talented and funny, Jim was/is a part of our family going back to simplier and possibly the best times in the United States when we actually had an identity. Memories of Jim Stafford will be forever be etched in our memories until the last one of us of his younger generation are gone. God bless Jim Stafford. God bless the United States.

It’s been said all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately we are mortals whose days are numbered. In times past tradition would continue and comparable replacements would admirably step in to continue with tradition. Sadly, our great land doesn’t respect tradition as it once did, and suitable replacements are fewer and farther between. Talent has been replaced by noise and electronic signals. I hope someday there will be a renaissance of talent to silence the noise we hear today.

@Jon Smith Howzabout a "Bullshit Artist baiting douchebag". Care if i give it a whirl? Thanks. Here goes........ Why the hell everybody (a lot of fffffolks, anyway) got to bring their "god" into every possible conversation, i wonder. Fffffor instance; there is a Ton of Evidence, in favor of a "Race" existing and/or having existed, at some point, in time (up to and including right this very instant), whereas, there is very little, if not, any, Evidence, in favor of a "god" existing, ever, let alone a "god" whom gives a fffffflying ffffart, in regards to Human endeavors, imaginary or otherwise, conscious or unconscious. In other words....No Evidence of a "god", caring, regardless of one's "State" of mind. Get it? "State"? (Mr. Stafford was talking about the "State" of "Florida", in this Video.. You had to be there, i guess.)

@Wayne M you are a complete idiot if my comment went over your head. Let me dumb it down for you so your simple mind can grasp it. I didn't say Stafford was not talented. I live in Missouri. Do you have any idea how many times I saw Stafford in Branson? Lol. I'm talking about his notoriety. Since your first comment was pompous and full of contempt at being so cool that you again missed my point. Try to stick with me big guy. The poll isn't just asking snowflakes, nor millennials idiot. The point is is that YES Stafford IS underrated because very few people knew/know who he was and that is a shame because he was amazing. I grew up listening to Roy, Chet, Glen etc and very few people know them as well and that's a shame. Next time before your fragile little ego gets its panties in a bunch try making sure you actually understand what the person said. That way you won't look like an idiot again.
@coryCuc

@Wayne M Holy shit man. Just when I thought you couldn't get dumber. Read YOUR definition that you just posted. "A price less than the TRUE VALUE." TRUE VALUE. Idiot. Which proves MY point that Stafford is amazing, yet people (I'm not talking about OLD people like yourself, I'm talking about people in general) don't know about him which makes his TRUE VALUE less than what it SHOULD BE. Roy Clark was a master at anything with a string on it. Most people have never heard of Roy Clark, hence he would be UNDERRATED for the exact same reason. I really hope you are like 12 years old because I can't wrap my mind around having to explain this to an adult.

Jimmy lived right up the road from me in Winter Haven. Saw him in Publix one day and we talked guitars for about thirty minutes. Thatvwas years ago. Very nice man.

Got a chance to see him at his theater in Branson, 1994 or there abouts. Best show there! Family focused,entertaining and he was so wonderful sitting on the side of the stage meeting anyone who wanted to see him. Don't know if he still plays there. Highly recommend!!!

Yes he does. He still does a meet and greet at every show. Stays until everyone has a photo opportunity.
