Man, I'm from New Zealand. 61 pushing 62. I have loved Jim S from the 70s. Just want some new stuff. Old stuff stacks up big time. Love him. Swamp W is my all time fav but Spiders and S a close second and still sounds so cool today.

In the mid-70s I had "Jim Stafford" and "Not Just Another Pretty Foot" on 8-track. I burned up two copies of each listening to them in my 1965 Dodge Dart.

Here's one for you....I'm currently 29 and grew up listening to Moody Blues, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Jefferson Airplane, Jim Stafford and MANY more on vinyl records and 8 tracks. This by far is my favorite song by Jim. Thanks to my parents introducing me to it, I would sit in front of the stereo with headphones on and listen to this song on record OVER AND OVER AND OVER! When I was 14 or 15, my grandparents took us see Jim Stafford in Branson. I bought a picture of him during Intermission and was lucky enough to have him to sign it with "None of Us Are Here" after the show! I will never forget the look on his face at my request! I still have it and keep it between two books on my shelf to keep it from getting bent. With the exception of my parents vinyl record, I have NEVER been able to find this song or album anywhere, until now. THANK YOU!

Christopher Krafft I am now 27 amd had a similar experience. I woman I used to do yard work for in high school has this album and many others from Arlo Guthrie to Billy Holliday. Music is a window to the soul and there is hardly a better way to turn thought and emotion into a real and physical thing.

When I was a crazed Jim Stafford fanatic in the mid 1970s, I used to call radio stations to request this song. I had the idea that if some station would just play it, it would become a hit. One time, the lady who took my request knew of the song and also thought it was a great song. She said she'd do what she could. But, alas, I never got a radio station to play the song. I still have it on my old tapes and LPs, but thanks for posting it for the You Tube generation.

It should have been played and should have been a hit.....it's pure genius.

Well, I for one loved it! I was a live record playing D. J. In the mid 80's for KTEO AM on the overnight shift and I played this song at least weekly and sometimes two or three times a week. So, at least you know someone did🙂! It was and is still probably too deep for most people but, nowadays physicists are starting to wonder if consciousness is fundamental and Bernardo Kastrup thinks we are all one mind with something like a dissassociative identity disorder like a multiple personalities. I came here looking for this song, so I give a big thank you to this channel for posting it! 😎

I believe one of the greatest songs ever written; great narration, arrangement and orchestration; very deep lyrics. But after playing it on the radio for years, I believe I understand it, and I respectfully refute to Mr. Stafford that, "we are indeed HERE. And though 'He' may very well have dreamed us all alive, we will most definitely, SURVIVE. God created us, loves us in spite of our humanity and our failings, and for those who choose to, WE WILL SURVIVE. Thank you, Creator; I love you, too!

I'm 59, was a DJ back in the 70's and 80's, and my shifts would often end at midnight, at which time I always tried to close my show with a really cool song, and at least once a month I would play this song as the very first song one would hear just before the strike of midnight. I would also sometimes play "Good Night" by The Beatles; or, Suite: Clouds & Rain by David Gates, among others. If you've never heard them I highly recommend them both and ANY thing by David Gates. Bring back live DJs!

If any of you ever get the chance, DO go to Branson, Missouri some day; visit as many of the theaters as you can, (especially Jim Stafford's), go for a slow drive around the lake, eat at the Cracker Barrel, explore the areas out "in the boondocks." Visit some antique stores, spend time with the people, enjoy the fresh air, nature. It will renew your mind and your soul and you will have very pleasant memories you will never, ever forget.

My cousin took my sister and I to Branson way back when we were teenagers. You would never have recognized it. I thought for sure they would end up going out of business. Boy was I wrong! At one of our family reunions another one of my cousins took the "next generation" and I wish I'd gone. Would have loved to have seen Jim Stafford in person. I always considered him just a comedian. Wrong again. Thanks for posting this!

Although we live in different places occupying different spaces What was in my heart back then is still there now Unfamiliar faces generating love's lost traces Can't we find a way to start again somehow? I miss you with each draw of breath longing for your love until death and after that back on the cosmic wheel to join again in life's long dance For you I'll always take the chance To find each other again in time For our love is real I can feel so much of life alive when you are near my dear will you still be my wife let me be clear I need you here in my heart (I hope) never again to part Let's make another start while we still can...what'd'ya say my darling K...*..

The ‘70soften sucked out loud (disco, velour, leisure suits, CHiPs…)but there were bright spots, including the talents of Stafford and Croce… one gone too soon, the other under-appreciated.
