I still sing this song after all these years. When life sucks, and it often does, this song says it best. My kids have grown up to this. Class of 84.

I had a friend who hit rough patch that seemed to keep going. He was a self taught musician, Accordion, concertina and flute. Yes, He was Irish. I made him a continuous loop on a 90 cassette. Just this song. At first he felt I was being a right bastard. Unfeeling about his suffering. He was driving and someone popped it into the player. His friend said "Ain't this the truth" and started singing when it repeated. It became very popular with his friends. They said "Your friend has a wicked sense of humor. He must really like you to have made the tape for you". Now I think of Noel when I hear it. I don't know if the band reads the comments but this song helped my friend.

Drove from Bangor, Me to Hampton Beach, NH at close to 90 in a Chevy Chevette back in 1984 to see these guys open for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Great night indeed.

This has been my personal anthem my whole life!! Was lucky enough to be sound engineer for a band that backed them up MANY years ago. The club was packed!! Very fun night. All I have left is those great memories of a different time with different attitudes.

Ipswich, MA. These guys should have been top of the bill. If there was any fairness at all, but life sucks then you get chased around by a psycho-chicken. Go figure. 🤩👍👍

Some of the good things about growing up in Massachusetts are the great schools, the world-class medical care, easy access to the ocean, lakes, mountains, etc. But seeing the Fools at the Channel, the Paradise and other local clubs was, by far, the best part.

This song tops a. Real life unfortunate for farmers.this can actually happen. I always thought of this song as a way to remember . Why we still do the right thing and we make our life better by doing what is right. She sleeps with some one else . watch how jealous she gets when you have a bunch of money.
