It's not a demo. "Sacred High" (which probably would've gotten renamed to "Filthy Dharma Bum") along with the others that were released as B-sides or box set tracks (Breathing Out, In The Clouds, Beauty's On The Street, North, Splunge/Relapse and Down On Me) , were recorded for their 1994 album THE CULT. To my knowledge there are no known demos for THE CULT songs, at least officially available. They were playing Starchild (Star) as well as Be Free on their 1993 tour. They started the album with Rick Rubin producing but that was abandoned. It's too bad this tune as well as some of the other left-offs didn't make the album. Had they put most of them on instead of some others the album would be even better.

I read some things in Melody Maker in 1994 about Rick Rubin. The rest of it is just from the liner notes from RARE CULT.
