As incredible as Rickman was and his mannerisms and speech patterns he gave to Snape were perfect. Alan was so much older then Snape was supposed to be. I pictured Snape a bit younger and calmer. Your portrayal is insanely good holy shit. If you ever wanted to do another roleplay as Snape I don't think anyone could complain.

I understand why however you have to remember that he can't be that much younger in the books otherwise the timings wouldn't make sense. After all he is the same age as Lily amd James who were 21 when they died. Only 20 when Harry was born. If he was any younger it would seem a bit wierd with ages.

Therefore, he would be around 31 or 32. I don’t know if he was a bit older then Lily. He can’t be younger than her, since he was in the scene were she got sorted. He just have been 1a or twelve I believe.

Thats the thing about the casting of the films. Harry's parents, Snape, Remus, Sirius and Peter were just 21 when harry's parents died. Therefore the rest were only 33ish by the time of the first book. However the casting looked significantly older. Apart from the age the cast was impeccable though. Also how are you middle aged, Jim? Must be that elf blood, eh?

Though I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan at all, I loved Alan Rickman as an actor, and really enjoyed his portrayal of Snape. You've done a really impressive and beautiful job here. Rickman's Snape had an unforgiving air of tension, and however beautifully acted - that just was not relaxing. Your version is kinder and more humble, I thought. I’ve always been so attached to Snape as I’ve recently found out my mother (Huge Harry Potter nerd) named me after Lily (Harry’s Mother.) I’ve always seen the good in Snape, even when he’s a jerk. He’s a huge comfort character for me, this video is very comforting. Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos. I’ve watched almost all of them.
