Simple, took just 5 minutes like you said. Like you said new switch not as smooth. Once installed you didn’t notice it. Nice having the switch light up!

I just had a meeting with my local dealer and the regional Toyota rep just happened to be there. I love my Prime XSE but I told the Toyota guy my biggest gripe is the lack of illuminated buttons. At night it’s nearly impossible to locate the dome light switches because they face downward. I will be adding an LED light to the back lift button too. Its black and I still can’t find it in the dark. The position of the button is also too far left of center on the door...be nice if a little tug down would actuate the closing process too.

Thank god. I love hearing comments like that. It makes me so happy that I can at least save other families from experiencing the pain we went though. I think tesla is too big to fail at this point and I still do think they are probably the future but dont be their guinea pig. Let them figure out their crap first.

James Klafehn seriously don’t take down your Tesla videos it’s important for the world to know their winter problems, electrical, service, authorized towing company’s “towing procedure” and how you legit got ripped a new one from that experience. You should do a video pro/cons of rav4 ownership. Keep up the work man!

@@pagslinas I did take it all down for a little while. I thought maybe they were giving me a hard time because of my videos. But it turns out it was just a normal tesla beating. It had nothing to do with my videos..... Yup I do plan a best and worst Rav4 Prime video. Its on my list. If you have any other suggestions let me know.

I find more a problem of finding the lock /unlock buttons to allow passengers out at night. Window switches no problem to find.

How did you come up with this calculation...please explain...so in that case using your logic...just disconnect all lights inside and outside including headlight and taillight infotaintment unit and speedomter lights....more EV range you will get

I upgraded all four of mine with an aftermarket Switches so they all light up now I think Toyota cheap out on the parts considering it’s the best selling vehicle in America that’s not a truck

No. I didnt see the need. I am in the drivers seat and I operate the windows normally. Also the rear switches are much easier to find for passengers.

I think I'll definitely be upgrading that switch when I get a RAV4 Hybrid (eventually... when they are actually in stock!). I would say that it's one of those small things that won't change until Toyota is loosing to the competition... which isn't happening anytime soon!

This shows the big difference in quality between Japanese vs U.S. sourced supplier parts. The RAV4 Prime is manufactured in Japan vs all the rest of the other trims RAV4 produced in the U.S.

I am an automotive supplier. We make the parts to the OE specs. Toyota wanted clicky on the Camry and not clicky on the RAV4. Has nothing to do with where they are made or level of quality.

No we bought a 2020 Rav4 XLE and it was manufactured in Japan. The vin number first letter is J.

Am I the only one who does not need to look at the window switches to feel where they are? They are very user friendly ( 4 buttons, 4 windows) even in the same order as the physical windows.

Blake you read my mind. I can feel which switch to press. I don’t want to be looking down at the illuminated switches while driving at night. Deal breaker was the touch buttons for the Venza. I want knobs, switches and buttons I can feel while driving.
