I Grew up in the Church of Christ, but unfortunately parted ways as I turned into adulthood. It's been almost two decades that I haven't given myself to the Lord. But just because I'm walking in the world doesn't mean I have forgotten.. I now am back at a church trying to figure what's the right church. The churches I've attended all have Great up to date Worship Music, which I can relate, but most I think for me there's nothing like Great Old Time Church of Christ Hymns.. I always seem to find myself in search of all those Old Fashion Hymns. Selecting them one by one to hear. Which kinda gets annoying.. but today I came across your Musical Hymns and they had an amazing Impact to me. They touched my heart and soul. They are Addicting and I could ask to be more addicted to anything in this whole world.. They bring back so many childhood memories as well as peace and comfort.. and might I mention this all happened in one day. So I want to say Thanks,.from the Deepest of my Heart, for Your Amazing Gift that you use so Wisely that it touches individuals and and guides there life when in question or in doubt. The Church I have been attending has changed so much since our pastor was called to another Church. No more hymns, the choir is 1/3 of what it was. This Christmas there was no Nativity and the entertainment was lights and mist; the program was done in black and purple. There is no difference in the pastor's and choir's dress than you would find in the local beer joint. My Church is gone. I love your music, it brings back so many memories. please don't stop, our hearts long for this. Blessings and love in Christ.

It is tough when a Pastor leaves a church. I have gone through this experience as well. Just remember that no person is perfect. God should be our focus- not a church or pastor. However, I hear what you're saying. Maybe there is another church in your area where you might feel more comfortable. Keep praying about it.

DEAR JIM what a blessing your hymns are to me .. they are refreshing. your beautiful gift of music I am blessed you are using what a gift GOD gave you ... I love to sing the hymns..JIM all those beautiful pictures you have all kinds so so lovely ... the farm picture are special to me I grew up on a dairy and pig Farm along with chickens the other day I saw the chickens made chuckle we had rabbits calves we milked back in the sixties about 70 to 80 cows we worked hard but we ate good. growing up we never had a T V we listen to christian radio in the evening a lot of southern gospel music I love the lord I thank him for music and the harp I like to I think of David how he played the harp I get a good sermon through all your anointing music washes over me this evening I had a phone call my husband was in an accident.. I had to go to the hospital....I started to pray when I seen my husband I thanked and praised GOD for protecting him he only had abrush mark and bursised right eight lower top arm a large area ... GOD is so merciful and Faithful to us .. the car is no more we had that car 20 years that was a favorate car of ours.. treated us so good a other blessing .. we got to start to count our blessings... JIM you are on the top of the list you are A blessing to many many people like the person who was in the occult.. praise GOD that person knows Jesus and is blessed by your music. that brings joy comfort I think it can't get any better than you... oh my oh my when enter the pearly gates home at last at last we only first begun heavens music I can hardly wait I am thinking a lot about heaven lately I read the back of the book my place at the table is set.. yes oh my.. I knew that was PA. It's like looking out the back door from where I grew up, The goldenrod gave it away too. Love the music. Hymns bind us together and we are losing that in the Christian community. They use to create a common bond between denominations. They had hymn sings that rotated around different churches in the area each month, where I grew up (Clearfield County). The hymns created a common bond and the church is losing that quickly today. Everybody's making their "own sound."

I have been listening in on this for about 2 year. It has the right proportion of balm that soothes a heart yearning for God. Then, I used to meditate on the words as I was seeking God in prayer for a job. After about 6 months, God blessed me with a fulfilling Job, in line with my Profession. 2 years down the line, I am (currently )in China, courtesy of my employer,, Government of Kenya, to advance in academics. I still find your peace so useful; May God bless.

Thanks Jim Engel for compiling these. I grew up listening to these songs in Sunday School, Church, House every day...Today as I listened to them, they reminded me of my parents - dad a clergyman and mum a teacher and both loved whistling these songs or sang them around our home all the time. They bring such good memories of my parents and a happy childhood knowing God was always a prayer away. When mum at 79 became blind and could no longer read, she spent lots of time just singing away until she passed on this April at 81. I can imagine what a glorious time they are both having just singing away these and other hymns we do not know about...
