When the Bunsen Burner flame is yellow you can casually wave your hand thru the flame like a cool cat impervious to heat. One bright spark (pun most definitely intended) decided to do it with a blue flame....free trip to Emergency.

Bunsen burners, certain maths topics, English literature and about 80% of the stuff that you're taught in school.....never used again once you leave school

I own a Bunsen Burner, I don't have a gas hookup or hose for it, but I've got the burner. and matches. gotta have matches to light the Bunsen Burner.

I remember the Bunsen burner :) Science teacher always told us not to put hair spray in our hair and one girl didn't listen , one day in the science lesson we turned on the Bunsen burner and the girls hair caught on fire ! Thank fully the teacher was near by and put the flames out.
