If you are spending 30+ nights a year sleeping in it, comfort is more important than simple. I like having a full night's sleep. When I was sleeping in Mississippi at 32 degrees C, I only had the liner. When I was in the mountains and into October at 4 C, all the layers came into play. I don't think there is one sleeping bag that will do it all.

Yep that overhead cam was when I discovered I had more landing strip than trees on top. So I now bick instead of of getting a hair cut even though my daughter is a hair stylist.

Hello from Alabama. Watched the "sleeping quarters" setup from start to finish. So many components, but practice makes perfect, eh? Just when you turned off your light, Patrick Stewart came on with a commercial. Thought it was you - scared me to death 😮

lol, I'm not so scary. Was to London, England once, in 2007. Saw Patrick Stewart in Anthony and Cleopatra... but that's an aside. Setting up the full system takes about 8-10 really. I've got lot's of components and that reflects on me sleeping in just above freezing to 90 degree nights. A sheet over the air mattress and just the sleeping bag liner take no time at all. It's all about comfort and flexibility.

Wow that’s some night time routine you. Although always used mummy sleeping bags they are very restrictive. I’m sure you could find a better system and an insulted mattress would help. Love the videos though. 🇬🇧

I'm cheap, er frugal. I work with what I have bought over the years and what I have at home. I'm also on the road in all sorts of weather and temps so having a system I can carry that is good for freezing up to 95F is important to me. The 3-4 nights previous to this, it was really no more than the liner and one of the thin sleeping bags on top as a blanket. The more nights I spend on the road, the more I am tending to want regular bedding than a sleeping bag. After 30 nights, much easier to wash a liner or a set of sheets. Still experimenting.

I often wondered why your morning starts were so delayed, as you complain about. I believe it takes twice as long to repack as unpack so just getting your bedding squared aware is probably 20 minutes or more. You must love days when you setup for a few days at a clip:)

When I am nnot talking and showing, the complete setup takes about 7 min. and the packup about 5. Usually when I first get up I pull the plug and then put the kettle on. In the time it takes to get the water to a boil I've pretty well got the bed cleared. The most time consuming thing is getting all the cooking gear cleaned and put away. I do get distracted by journalling and checking emaail etc. lol. Savoring the first coffee can take 20 min. I'm retired, I need to enjoy my getting jup and getting going and learn to accept it is not a race.

I think a Chinese diesel heater would be an easy solution, plus you can turn it on for cold mornings

I've got a Little Buddy propane heater that I put in the add-a-room pointed towards the open tent door. I will use that when the temps get lower than 5C/41F. It uses the 1 lb. propane tank and I like not having to deal with any liquid fuels (outside of the bike lol). With my battery/solar setup I can run the 12 volt electric blanket a few times a night if I need too as well. That particular night, the layers of my bedding system worked quite fine without the 12 volt blanket.

Every state and province still prints them so there must be a lot of us old foogies using them lol. Even with having the Spot tracker on so I can see where I have been, there is something satisfying about taking a pen or highlighter and tracing the route at the end of the day.

Once upon a time when traveling interstates, at the first rest stop entering a state one could find paper maps. No longer the case, unfortunately. My Garmin Zumo fell off on Interstate 90 coming across Montana a few weeks ago. I quickly pulled off, ran back up teh highway and fortunately it bounced to the gravel on the right side of the road. Put it back in place and........... it works fine though a bit scared up now. @@OldGuyonaBike

It's a little like Dr. Who's Tardis - bigger on the insise than the outside. The wide angle lense kinda helps that illusion but I will admit that it has been the most practical way to camp I have found so far. Just being able to set up a table inside is a luxury.

Good setup Jim made me think of all the nights slept in my big trucks over the years almost fifty years first few years had no bunk a box between the seats when I got my first trunk truck I was I heaven lol take care buddy have a great weekend

For me, the best thing is being to sit up and stand up... no more trying to get my pants on while lying down.
