This song is about his experience with depression during covid. The mv is basically a dream. he’s falling asleep at the table. He escapes into a night of fun, partying with friends trying to forget about his current reality/unhappiness. But reality keeps seeping in, represented by the mud on the floor, the girls muddy hand that pulls him away, mud dripping down the hallway walls, his muddy footprints and his muddy hand. He ends the dream in realization that this doesn’t change anything, there’s no point in trying to pretend everything is fine.

The song dropped on BB on its second week due to BB filtering out 60% of its sales. Yes, it is unknown exactly how they did it because the sales were there and then they weren't. Since Jimin didn't do radio payola he received 0 points for radio and so it only relied on streams and sales. The other artists at the time had huge radio numbers and low sales and streams yet they were placed way higher on the chart. I suggest Boracity's "Why the music industry is terrified of BTS" and "A guide to BTS" to get to know the band better.

I really like how this song shows escapism: things that look charming and sensual are used to cover sadness and struggles. I think if you have time, you should check the whole album FACE because it adds some light on what is going on in Jimin's head and how it is resolved. The song that wraps up the album is "Set me free pt 2" and it definitely has different vibes, strong lyrics and amazing choreography.

Just so you know, there is a show called "Suchwita" hosted by one of BTS members (SUGA) where he sit one on one and chat with other members over food and drings about the music they release for their solo projects. I think you might find interesting the eposiode in which SUGA invited Jimin :)

Jimin danced The choreography with a drunk and dreamlike state or vibe. Like Crazy was a song from his Solo Album Face. All the songs were written by Jimin and produced by his own In House producers. The album is a chronological depiction of the depression he fell into, when BTS'S Map of the Soul World Tour was cancelled due to the Covid lockdowns. A performer and singer like Jimin , works and lives for the stage and performances, so you can imagine the turmoil he was in. Like Crazy debut number one on Billboard, when it charted, which was a shock to the industry, BB immediately changed the rules and deleted his streams to make him fall off the charts. It is still in the charts today.

Originally Like Crazy was predicted to be #4~#8 in its 2nd week. (final prediction) Ever since Jimin topped Hot 100, BB had changed their rule impulsively without any notice! (during weekend) Jimin's more than 100k sales disappeared without any explanation. BB never explained why they had to change the rule so impulsively. Hybe didn't do anything about it either. Hybe has alway emphasized the importance of collaborating with Western artists, and believed that only by collaborating with Western artists can be succeed in main stream. Especially Bang Shihyeok. His mind is so narrow and rotten.

♦️Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” he watched during pandemic, inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even uses excerpt wordings, with voice over actors using dialogue more in tune with song, from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Like Crazy,was an awful movie to watch, very difficult...if you've not seen it,don't waste your time. And,Jimins favorite movie is"The Notebook"by Nicholas Sparks,author of said book. A most exceptional movie,but get a box of tissues. These are my opinions as far as the critique goes. Jimin has said this was his favorite movie more than once. I like your reaction! JIMIN is a very interesting artist. Hope you react as well to his other iconic jawdropping song SET ME FREE PT2. I’m sure you’ll gonna like it. 💯 please do the mv and dance practice. 🙏 Billboard did him dirty with the dropping on the charts on the 2nd week. And yes , JIMIN has a lot of haters because he is the only soloist who is slaying the charts with his solo songs. He topped billboard, with a Korean solo song, he is the only kpop soloist to top (no. 1) in artist 100, he is the only artist all over the world with 6 songs that got #1, all-kill in 119 countries. His latest song WHO is also still charting over 7months already. He doesn’t need to collab with big western artists, no ads, no radio, no tth and his company is not even helping. These haters can only wish it for their favs but it’s not happening because jimin is loved by many dedicated fans around the world especially in the US. He is charting there until this day even if inactive and while in military and no promo. Nobody is doing it like him, he makes it all look so easy.

It's good to contrast Like Crazy to another track on his Face album SET ME FREE. His FACE album explores his very difficult time he had during covid and his unresolved feelings of anger over the cancellation of the world tour which they had trained for and heavily invested in. He said he was drinking very heavily. He did not even realise his anger and confusion was depression( black goo) till a friend he was helping move house told him. At which point he rapidly started to get better. Plus giving up drinking to get in the peak fitness required for BTS Vegas concert.6

Thanks for this reacrion & since you listened to Like Crazy maybe you will check out Jimin's whole 1st mini album "FACE" and than 2nd album "MUSE" (where Who belongs to)? Also Jimin has featuring songs called "Angel Pt.1" and it has "Pt.2" too with other western artists - soundtrack for film "Fast & Furious 10.1". The song called "Vibe" with Teyang from BigBang & another OST for k-drama, called "With You" with Ha Songwoon. Ooh, dont forget about "Promise" & "Christmas Love" too - we call them "non album tracks") All this songs & albums from his solo carrier. Jimin also has solo songs from BTS's discography, please check out them if it will be interesting to you: Lie, Serendipity (it has 2 versions one them is short (intro) & other one is full length), Filter & and also Friends - duet song with V from BTS.

You are correct, great beat but not a happy song. He wrote this during the pandemic about his feelings of depression, isolation, and escapism. And he dances so well because he was a contemporary dancer before BTS. Jimin helped create a lot of his own choreography for this album and Muse. I like how deep you go with the lyrics!

JIMIN debut at 1 with 0 radio play. Second week they deleted 3/4 of his streams claiming they were bots. BUT BTS bots have physical avatars that sellout Arenas in minutes and sit their bot bums in seats. Remember BTS sing Live. So dance has to take that into consideration.

Why is Jimin copying the Weekend? I am over reactors who always compares BTS as a group or individuals to a Western artist. BTS has been around since 2013. I would like just once to for a reactor to say that one of these Western artist were influenced by BTS.
