Facial hair? Wtf? Koreans have a high standard of beauty, they really take care of how they look & that's fine with me. I wish all men would take more time to look after their skin tbh. I have nothing against facial hair but I do against men having to adhere to looking manly to be manly. I'm a guy myself & have a daily routine for my skin, I eat healthily, face masks, toner, moisturiser, suntan lotion to protect my skin even in winter & I will say that apart from the odd pimple if I stray from healthy eating, that my skin is pretty clean & flawless. I think the problem lays with society's expectations of man & women which needs to change. There are pretty men out there that should totally welcome it instead of trying to "look manly" with facial hair & whatnot. I also have no problems with manly looking men at all as long as they're not toxic with it.

LOL so some BTS members do grow facial hair but they shave it off. Seeing as they’re IDOLS, they’re supposed to look spotless. There’s been times where they let it show but that’s when they’re not filming or doing photo shoots. Try not to start this make up topic. Lets not ignore the fact that every person artist or actor wear make up to some extent. KPOP just happens to emphasize on it because they’re supposed to look good but that doesn’t take away from their masculinity. It’s definitely a cultural thing Most celebrities/K-pop idols get laser facial hair removal and some simply don’t grow hair because of genes,They have a very high beauty standard.While in the western world looking sexy and mature is usually the look we go for In Korea they want you to look like a baby.I have no idea if you actually mentioned something about makeup or l just heard wrong,but they do wear a little bit of makeup as does every person in the entertainment industry when they get infront of the camera 👯‍♀️.

In Korea facial hair is often seen as untidy. If you have a office job they expect you to be clean shaven. Besides this fact SE asian men have less propensity to have a lot of facial hair but most do grow some. Idols shave or even wax sometimes to appear more youthful.

And its good because they have more self awareness and take extra effort to care for their face and keep themselves clean. 😊

You guys should really check out Jimin's Set Me Free Pt 2 MV! I'm East Asian and I think culturally, we tend to find clean shaven men more attractive. You don't really see young men with beards that much. You might see it more in older male actors. As for the make up, it's part of the Asian idol culture. They all generally have at least some make up on for any MVs, performances, photo shoots, "official" public appearances, etc. As fans, we often see them without any makeup on from like pics on social media, live streams, or content in more relaxed settings.

Clean shaven and hairless are part of the beauty standards in most of Asian country but ARMYs go nuts for the members unshaven facial hairs too so I think it's mostly personal taste... The guys do have facial hairs but most of the time they kept a clean shaven style from top to toe during their official activities and promotions. They even went as far as wearing masks and whatnot if they have stubbed chins or such... kekekeke... BTW, other idols sometimes opted for a bearded or mustached looks so there you have it...

I don’t mind a bit of neatly groomed shorter facial hair, if it looks good on the man, but Jimin is perfect without it. If you have great skin, you might as well show it off. It is a K-pop industry norm to be completely fuzz-free, with some makeup when in front of cameras. I think genetically many Korean men may have less facial hair, so it makes sense. I personally don’t like a lot of facial hair, but on some men a little looks great.

Hi guys, Bts is on top for me but I like a lot of black pink songs as well. No need to compare them. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. It’s a different fruit. I got the impression y’all think Army is made up of only Koreans. While of course there are Korean army but army are from all over the world. I’m from Georgia in America. Skin care is big in Korea but yes they can grow facial hair, I think the different idol groups stay clean shaven because it makes them look younger. 2:00 actually in korea facial hair its not that usual to see in young people, and isnt in the "beauty standars" so seeing an idol with facial hair is strange, thats one of the things why they look so young i think. In fact, the beaty standars of Korea are a huge problem in Kpop, the apperance its one of the struggles kpop idols have and even can get them to go hiatus (its like a period of time when they stop doing activities and promotions, mainly beacuse pf health problems, this includs mental health problems)

The facial hair matter you mentioned: it's not about ARMY's taste whattttt It's korean standards, korean beauty standards. Men should have a clean shave to appear more professional and such. ARMY's have no say. Personally, I would love for them to grow a beard, if they wanted to. But some of them have even gotten laser surgery in the past to get rid of facial hair. It's korean standards. And also I think the majority of koreans are naturally not as hairy as westerners in general. I believe most koreans can't grow a full beard, perhaps it's genetical, perhaps it's because they start from so young always doing a clean shave, idk tbh. Many western men anyway can't grow a full beard either, so yeah.
