JHope is a member of BTS from South Korea. He wrote this song and collaborated with his idol J Cole. He is a singer, rapper and compose all of his works and even does his own beats.

Hope was born in 1994 and he just turned 29 in February. He’s the dance leader and one of the three rappers in BTS and also a sub vocalist. He was a street dancer before joining BTS. They debuted in 2013 so they are not new to the music industry. J Cole is his muse and they met officially at Lollapalooza when Hope headlined in July. BTS also has a rendition of Born Sinner called Born Singer to pay homage to J Cole that was released back in 2013. I recommend checking out Born Singer Live 2022 (it has subtitles) to get a taste for all of the members. BTS has hit almost every genre you can think of as well so I’m sure y’all can find songs you like in their discography💜 also KPoP is an industry not a genre, within that industry there’s hiphop, indie, rock, pop, r&b etc..

J-Hope is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, producer and dancer. He's a member of group name BTS. Before joined BTS he was an underground hip hop dancer. He always mentioned J-Cole in his songs, and in general, as his inspiration. That's why him dancing to J-Cole's rap, is special, because it's a nod to his beginnings. Jhope was a dancer first before he became a rapper. Jcole is his ultimate musical inspiration since the beginning. He danced to a lot of his songs and mentioned Jcole in their earlier songs and now seeing Jhope just dancing on top of the beat while his muse is rapping in his OWN song makes it even more special. I’m beyond proud of Jhope. I highly suggest for you guys to check out ‘Born Singer’ by BTS which is a remake of Jcole’s song ‘Born sinner’ as well as ‘Hiphop phile’ lyrics by BTS, Jhope mentioned Cole there.

BTS/J-Hope... known worldwide as the most popular group ... he headlined alone at Lollapalooza this past summer sold out 100,000 and J Cole waited to meet him. JCole was his inspiration when he started learning to rap. This song doesn't really showcase all his dance and rapping talent but he has several albums out alone and latest is Jack In the Box. He wrote this song and graciously allowed his idol to rap for over a minute and a half. Jhope/Hobi of BTS will be going into the military soon and this was I'll see you soon to the Army fandom... that is the name of BTS's fans. ARMY... check it out. Although all 7 members of BTS are having to enlist they have had to take a break so they can grow as solo artist too. Jhope has collaborated with one of his heroes. It's important that you know there are many artists who would love to collaborate with BTS because they have their extremely large fan base , that's us ARMY who are by now almost 1 billion Strong around the world. We are not all teenage girls either. I'm 58 and army and discovered BTS at the start of the pandemic and I can't express enough how much I admire and respect them. They went through a lot being disrespect and the mistreatment they suffered is actually heartbreaking. They have discography back to 2013 they have won over 1000 awards and ard 5 time Grammy Nominees. These 7 amazing men from South Korea are my light and I love them to the moon and back and twice round again. One thing I wanted to mention is BTS are not western artists so they obviously have their own language. You may think you hear them singing the n word but it is definitely not it's negga a Korean word which means you. Please take note of that because I watched some black guys react to BTS and they wouldn't watch further because they thought they heard that word. That's ignorant of them to not look at the translation of their lyrics and to dismiss these massively talented men.

K-pop isn't really a genre per se but more a "label" on most of the Korean Music Industry. I feel, it's a casually slapped-on label that actually encases all genres. Also the term boy band commonly used when mentioning BTS sounds (in my ears) too derogatory and not enough to describe their artistry and talent.

Kpop is not a genre, it's an industry.. so inside Kpop there are all types of genre too. It's like Hollywood have diff. genre of movies. With that being said.... we Army, the fanbase of Jhope and his group BTS sometimes dont like putting them in side the Kpop category, because they are more than that. They have surpassed Kpop. BTS roots is hiphop and rap, they have 2 underground rappers and Jhope a hiphop dancer before being in BTS.

Loved the reaction! 💜 J.Cole is jhopes idol and inspired jhope to start writing his own music. He gave J.Cole the majority of the verses as a sign of respect. This was a farewell that jhope did for his fans as he's going to do mandatory military service in the korean army. BTS actually has a debate as they don't conform to the standards of kpop in terms of their music so most kpop fans don't actually consider them kpop. RECOMMENDATION: BTS actually covered Jcoles Born Sinner to tell their story. The lyrics are really what u have to pay attention to with bts as their lyrical content is not fluff. Written/first released in 2013, shortly after debut, but the stage mix is a mix of 2 performances from 2015 & 2017. Another live version was made in 2022. Careful attention to the lyrics shows they update it through the years. It isn't really noticeable in the stage mix, but there is intention and meaning to the positioning/"choreo" of each performance (2015 begins facing each other, 2017 begins facing the world/audience) and who they are speaking to/singing for. Deeply meaningful, makes me cry every time I see it, thinking of the hardships, hate, and level of "success" they were facing at each time.
