Jimin is stretching his wings. He's telling the haters, of which he has so many, to F* off, but he's also telling that voice in his head to do so as well. He's been very open about how he is his own worst enemy, his mind telling him all the things the haters say over and over. He used the modulations to show the difference between the voice in his head, the voices of the haters, and the voice of his true self. I was taken aback when I heard the first few phrases, but as I listened to the rest of the song, I realized what he was doing and it became a part of the art. And that's what this is, performance art. it isn't just a song. This is an artist opening up his self and being vulnerable and sharing it with the audience. For me, this is the best thing I've seen and heard in years.

I actually love how he used autotune and vocal effects to depict the fight between the two sides of himself Autotune: angry and spiteful Clean: free and accepting And yes he has a lot of haters and people mocking him, still. Probably even more as he's gotten more successful (jealousy I guess). As we speak people from other fandoms AND many daring to call themselves "ARMY" are trying to sabotage his debut and spread lies and negative reviews. And it's been like that since 2013. I think d@ththre@ts are an almost daily thing for him.

Love the song - definitely anthemic. Thanks for playing Suga's song, nice to listen to these back to back. Interesting hearing the connections. BTW - did you notice the line that was similar to one from "On", something about going insane to stay sane? Also, the part of the choreography where they lift him seems like the choreo for his song "Lie". I could have done without some of the vocal distortion, but overall love the sound. Excited to see the direction they're all going in musically on their own.

Love watching your ractions Jim cos you really know the guys' musical journey thus talking abt the same things as Armys; Black Swan, Shadow... You know, BTS uses autotune to add to the story, either representing another character/an alter-ego, their shadow, to mimick haters or outside voices, or to tell the situation/feeling like being enclosed, captured etc. And the second part of the song, could be the enemy inside him or before him as we can also hear the "enemy" like alert behind. And "opp" means enemy so could be. The styles he used here was a surprise to us all, but in terms of the experimental nature of BTS and their whole musical journey, this is also stg we are kinda familiar with. And the choreo, representing cocoon, butterfly, logarithmic spiral like a nautilus shell, which Bernoulli uses as a symbol of fortitude and consistency in adversity, hardships or to say that after death or a big change enough to count as the death of our past selves, we will be our perfect-selves. The ending scene also reminded us of "Lie", and the "lie" there was stg Jimin wanted to be freed from. He is a multi-talented person, and as you say just his kindness is enough to respect him. Haters hate to hate, they try to hate and some also cant comprehend him.

I think it's a pretty damn good song. I think the different vocal sounds, is almost a way to break the sound up. He gave us his normal tone, then splashed in some slightly different ones to keep things fresh. I think they did a pretty damn good job. Also, there's nothing bad you can say about that choreo... You would be surprised, but sadly Jimin has the most haters out of all members. :( The different sounds/vocals are like different Jimin talking to each other, the different layers are like talking to each other. So the auto tune was artistically inserted in different sections, also the diction and intonation help tell that story of him, his struggles within himself. And yes, being free is within himself not necessarily from the group. When he was lifted it was the same from Lie song. I love this song, it's eerily epic. It's pretty INTERESTING how this is just Jimin's first song but it already recieves tons of hate so I'm already EXPECTING more once he drop his first solo album, however compared to J-Hope's and RM's recent Solo works like On the Street and INDIGO, there's no violent reaction. (Which is a good thing cause I'm a Jay bias and RM is my bias wrecker) Anyways, the hate just PROVES the visualization in the MV were the back-up dancers were pointing ☝️ fingers at him. It honestly just shows his current situation. Let's be honest It's not a false narrative that he's the most hated member, so the usage of opps isn't mis-used at all. OPPS has different meanings and usage depending in its origins, the one in UK and US are different and also from the Black Culture. That term can be find in professional games, OPPS as in opponents, or the one find in military, or the one found in gangs like addressing to the ones who wants to take your life and a lot more. OPPS can also mean the people who also betrayed you. Anyways, if he had used different word like "haters", "opponents", or "enemies" instead, it would be too shallow considering that the hate that he recieves isn't just an ordinary "hate". Hating or disliking someone is some what normal, however if that hatred contains malice like wanting to harm that person and wanting him dead even though that person never ever harmed you in anyway. That type of hatred isn't normal and shouldn't be taken lighty. To be honest, I don't like Jimin when I first encountered BTS, I wanted him to be kicked out from the group. He's too disgusting and repulsive too look at. He seems so fake and not genuine- At least that was the narratives of the first BTS clips that were given to me. 🤣 (It was taekook ships vid by the way) If you know nothing about BTS or any of the members, you would be fooled for sure. It's the most brilliant brainwashing I've ever seen, cause it target innocent but quite good people cause it take advantage of their kindness and protectiveness as a means to cause harm someone. And the worst part is, they don't even feel they did anything wrong at all since they were convince they were in the righteous and to torture this one particular member is completely justified since they feel that he deserve it. Long story short They potrayed Jimin as an evil manipulate attention whore and I'm pretty those people who hates Jimin to the core still believes it. Not gonna lie, it was brilliant manipulation and I was manipulated too, into believing that Taekook is real and V and JK had indeed have relationship with each other. Only because I don't know any better. The clips that were shown were very convincing and I do started disliking Jimin. The only difference is that I hated myself more for disliking a person I don't even know. Even though the narratives were pretty much telling me how "evil" Jimin is for "harassing" JK and for what kind of monster Jimin truly is behind the facade for also wanting to harm his "pitiful" best friend V I thankfully stopped watching all of those misleading vids, cause I knew they were deliberately cut short and edited in intentions to fool the viewers. And I couldn't be anymore grateful that I did that move back then otherwise if I hadn't stopped, I'm 100% sure I'll become a Jimin hater. And not just an ordinary hater, I'll be part of those people who would want him dead and would be eerily satisfied to see him in pain. Anyways, since I don't want to be in this toxic shipping perspective. I deliberately studied and researched BTS not just their music but also as a whole from their humble beginnings to their reach of peak. I finally see them in fresher not toxic perspective and finally see each member with unbiased light. I truly feel in love with their music and their personality and I'm genuinely impressed by them as a group. The rap line are the foundation and the vocal line are icing in a cake, together they are perfect. I love all of their albums and I can't even pick my fav albums cause all are great in their own way the same goes for their songs. Now that I see them in OT7 perspective and not in a force narrative, all I can say is they all deserve love and support. Not just one particular member but all of them. Having a bias might not be avoided but if you feel the urge to hate the other member just because he shines more than your fav member, you should check your toxic mentality first. BTS is family, they don't compete who's better at who, cause they all love and respect each other. And hope you can do that. I'm shouting out to all those fake OT7 out there, who says they equally love all member but deliberately leaves Jimin out just because he just "shines too much". Also to the toxic Taekooker's out there, I'm only asking you 2 simple things: Pop your delusions and also please stop getting blinded by these false on going narratives that you yourselves created. But if you can't that's okay too, you can continue shipping cause that's your own business but for the love of God, get Jimin out of this.

There are 3 types of people who still mock Jimin... 1. "sounds like a girl" 2. the other members (jokingly) 3. Jimin himself I think is still his own biggest hater... been watching his interviews lately and dude needs to recognise himself man lol

I think I hear Suga's vocal in the background on the hard part of the song. There is definitely a correlation or continuation from August D

With regard to the song being titled…. Pt2. On March 10, 2023, the girl group Twice released a song titled “Set Me Free”, so wondering if that possibly influenced the titling of Jimin’s song?
@hachinight09 Жыл бұрын
No. As Jim discussed further into the video, the Pt. 2 is because the song is a nod to Suga’s Interlude: Set Me Free. Artists having the same titles are common and no reason for either one to change theirs to accomodate the other. Fans will know which is which. Furthermore, it’s not easy to change the title even. He already has all the album stuff arranged and made weeks if not months in advance. It would be a huge waste of resources and a headache for the logistics as well.

How is that same note ???? What has happened with you people did you forget to just listen to music WITHOUT OVER ANALYZING IT TO FIND THINGS WHICH DOES NOT EXISTS IN IT THE THE 1st PLACE. IN WHICH LANGUAGE SHOULD JIMIN SAY IT & WE SAY IT FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT, “ IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SUGA’s ALBUM”. PERIODT. IF IT HAD ANY RELATION HE WOULDVE BEEN THE 1st one to get credits in the Credits. STOP FORCING THINGS WHICH DOES NOT EXISTS AND SET JIMIN FREE FROM DELUSIONAL THEORIES & NONSENSE. IF TYPE & SEARCH “ SET ME FREE” you will find a bunch of K-pop songs alone in that name. JIMIN JUST PUT PT.2 IN IT COZ THERE ALREADY BUNCH OF SONGS EXITS IN THE SAME NALD NOT JUST SUGA’s. HE DIDNT WANNA CHANGE THE NAME COZ IT FITS WITH HIS SONG & THEME. THAT IS ALL THAT IS. THIS IS JIMINS ALBUM HE MADE EVERY SONG. HE CREATED HIS OWN SONGS. OKAY. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THAT IS THE FACT. NOW LET HIM FREE.

I really like this song,but i think the autotune in the second verse is to much. I prever his own raw voice,because we know he can do it. The dancers are fenomenal!!
