I'm sorry some girls treated you that way, Nigel. I personally have had only a few occasions with nice guys and usually what makes me move away from them is when they start to put on a "persona" or "act," which a lot of times just turns out very egotistical and insincere to try to impress me when all I want is for someone to be themselves. I've barely had a relationship bc guys nowadays are so quick to try to get the goods and go. You don't need to throw pick-up lines or act like a "bad boy" to have my attention. Honestly, I've watched a lot of my friends treat nice guys badly. Some girls out there will take a guy being themselves as a means to find weak spots, which is not nice at all.

*5:58* The 'bad boy' concept is so overrated imo. When you see or meet a guy who's nice or kind; (has a big heart) it shouldn't be perceived as not good enough or annoying. I'm a teenage girl and there isn't a ton of nice or kind teenage guys everywhere, so when there is one, he shouldn't be treated in an unfair manner.

I'm honestly so sorry that you really believe that "nice guys finish last" because it really isn't true. From what I can tell, guys definition of a "nice guy" and a girls definition is slightly different and is what leads to situations like that. I think the main problem is when a guy believes he is "being nice" he ends up either sheltering or subconsciously hiding parts of himself from a girl, and most girls are able to feel that lack of self even before getting to know a guy. So then the girls who are assholes end up taking advantage of the effort being put into changing themselves (which nobody should ever make you feel like you should have to, no matter what you identify as) and the normal girls are afraid to get close to/trust a guy who feels like he isn't fully genuine, even if it comes from a good place since they won't know that unless you tell them.
