I think our Tagalog speaker is not really fluent or in-depth with the language. If we are really going deep into Tagalog, we mostly use Hispanic names for the countries mentioned. Japan - Hapon / Bansang Hapon USA - Estados Unidos ng Amerika UK - Britanya; I am not sure if we use Reyno Unido but I think older Filipinos would understand and still use this. Germany - Alemanya Netherlands - Olanda Belgium - Belhika Most Filipinos nowadays aren't really in-depth with Tagalog or any Filipino languages due to the use of English and we mostly converse in Taglish.

About my country of The Netherlands. Holland is only 2 provinces out of 12 in the country. The thing is i always get confused if people say Dutch for my language because for me i think its german. Yes, we, Indonesian are rarely pronounce our country name correctly. Jakarta people usually pronounce it as "ENDONESAH" 😂 There are three ways to pronounce China for Indonesian: The english way, China (cayna); the common improper one, Cina; and the proper one Tiongkok. Indonesian preserve 'a' in Italia and Filipina. So the Indonesian girl actually pronounce it in English way. USA in Indonesian language is AS, Amerika Serikat. Serikat means guild or union. We don't have UK in Indonesian but we do have Britania Raya as translation of Great Britain. Some Indonesian are trilingual so that's why the Indonesian girl may accidentally code switch to English names.

Vietnam, among those that has been "influence" by China (same as Japan and Korea) have similar pronunciation to Chinese and did used Chinese letter to write for a very long time. Then Korea invented their own writing system but still keeping a large portion of Chinese pronunciation, same as Japan. For Vietnam, we did in fact use the Chinese pronunciation but it's closer to the southern side of China (as China itself it a large country and they would spell or pronounce a word differently depend on we they live). And during French colonialism, Latin alphabet was introduce as a way for the French to control us and the Portugese priest help translate the Chinese sounding/pronunciation into Latin letter that we use now. Tl;dr: Vietnamese = the Chinese letter meaning/pronunciation but written in Latin alphabet + the French tone.
