Read Marty's audiobiography, I Must Say, he reads it. It. Is. Brilliant. A terrific read. he dedicates a whole bit to Jiminy and breaks down what it was like recording with Alec this day. it only makes this interview seem more brilliant. a WONDERFUL read. I've always loved Marty Short as a comic genius for decades, but I've only recently realized what an awesome human he is. He must be protected at all cost.

Baldwin knows the game and kills it. This is one of the best Glick's. Martin Short is always great, but some of his guests ruin it by not acting like it's a real interview. They insult Jiminy or they try to ask HIM questions. Seinfeld Sucked. Larry David sucked. Gervais sucked. Just treat it like a real interview and Jiminy carry it.

100%, couldn't agree more. So few of his guests knew how to play to the genius of the Glick persona, Martin Short is just ten steps above, and ahead, of their usual talk show circuit shtick. Baldwin played it straight, turned his own Baldwinisms up to 11, and gave Short something he could actually work with, and even be cowed by. Absolutely the best of the entire catalog.
