The writers once said they could sometimes be running under the episode length and write “Megan and Sean vamp for two minutes” and know they’d come up with something gold, and you can tell even he’s barely keeping up with Marty.

I met Martin Short at a show. Waited after show to try n get pick. As he was leaving"lucky to have spotted him" I shouted out his name and asked if I could take a picture of us. He came all the way back from down the hallway and said "of course" in his Martin Short way and was so kind n lovely n funny. I loved this man for years n he did not disappoint. I treasure my photo. I love all the ones where the guests don't know who he is and are genuinely baffled by his antics. I think the Mel Brooks interview was one of those. Seinfeld and Ricky Gervais, too, but they were both mean, whereas Mel Brooks seemed to have a good time. A painful one was Ice Cube, who was genuinely offended.

It will last 2 weeks max, is my prediction. I’m not sure people realize the difference between being a daily player on a talk show and being Martin Short. He works for fun, this is the second round of Jiminy Glick, there’s already about an hour or more of 90s or 00s content from Short as Glick. But enjoy this precious treat, Short has a series & he and Steve have other obligations. They likely make about $600,000 a week on TV, plus other appearances. They are technically elderly. Mr Short isn’t going to pick up another day job. Just enjoy Jiminy like a rare seasonal fruit that appears once a generation.
