I agree man, I watched this in the early 2000's but the problem is that the show is based on celebs being able to make fun of themselves or let Jiminy make fun of them. Celebs are just to insecure, I think thas why the show never lasted longterm, even with the newer stuff.

I actually enjoyed how well and easily Tim Allen took the insults, especially after seeing a few recently who didn't take it so well. He was a real sport here, relaxed, clearly comfortable with himself, just went with it. Very refreshing.

2:43 I don’t know why, but something that always sticks out to me is how seriously Tim treats this fictional Jorge. When Jiminy calls him a “wonderful wonderful man”, Tim immediately agrees in that way which celebrities always seem to do when they’re praising someone they obviously don’t know but don’t want to insult because of the camera on them. It’s a little moment which kind of represents the whole point of Martin Short’s show. Making fun of Hollywood and celebrity culture. And even though Tim Allen was clearly aware of the jokes and was a good sport, he still fell for the joke regardless.

I remember loving this show when it first came out. I am finally watching the episodes all over again. I haven't laughed this hard at a show in a long time. It is safe to say that Martin Short is absolute comedic genius. The way each guest reacts to him you can just tell they are in awe of his quick witted comedic abilities.
