@Ben You will never be a real pro by inserting godless profaneness in everything you say. You are being offensive to goodness itself and revealing the moral depths to which you, and your entire generation that tolerates it, has fallen. No one should every be subjected to your expressions above, especially the youth that are growing to love Tori's music and read your degenerate way of expressing yourself. Ancient sages encouraged us to let no unwholesome word proceed out of our mouths. Please listen to the wisdom of the sages and change your way of thought and self-expression. Tori, you have the same relaxed approach that Karen had. My Dad played bass on virtually every Carpenters record and I've watched Karen in the studio many times. Great observation. I didn't realize it until I heard Russian band Leonid & Friends' gorgeous recording of the Carpenters' song Superstar. I’m 70 and while in college (‘73) worked as a stage / performance assistant. The Carpenters were appearing in concert. I listened to Karen sing pre concert, in concert, post concert with and without any supporting music or sound support whatsoever. I actually listened to her sing “I wish you merry Christmas” with nothing but an empty beer mug as an improvised microphone in a local sandwich club post concert. (Karen had a wonderful fun loving personality). Tori’s cover is spot on. Perfectly performed. As if Karen lives on within her voice. Karen had an ever so slightly deeper, richer vocal range. Karen told me it came from her diaphragm which, when drumming and singing concurrently required that “deeper” breathing and a more “erect” posture to both drum and sing. Karen was a magical human being and would be so honored with Tori’s cover. Thanks for bringing back these great memories!

Really touches my heart to think that there are a growing number of younger people out there along with the aging population that are showing them the ropes of how to really produce good music and them embracing it. Not only is Tori’s voice amazing. The music and the voice dubbing is phenomenal! I think that Jim & Karen Carpenter were the only duo that were really gifted in dubbing their voices and it sounding so wonderful. Now, we have it back with a slightly different sound. This due because of improved audio technology and variations in people’s voices. We have it back though! Thank you guys so so much and please don’t stop producing such good music!

I think so many are actually missing the natural talent Tori has. Yes, she does sound similar to Karen Carpenter, and on some phrases very close indeed. However, she isn't trying to imitate her, that would require too much effort. Tori sings effortlessly, naturally, and with her own voice. As her voice is similar to Karen's, she brings a renewed life into these classics, not to replace, but to remind of what effortless talent can provide. If Richard Carpenter does indeed have unfinished songs then he would do well to ask Tori to sing them. It won't be Karen, but it will be Tori and anyone who appreciates natural, unforced talent will welcome Tori completing the songs that the world can enjoy along with already established Carpenters classics. Voices like Karen has and Tori has come along once in a generation, if we are lucky. I wish Tori every success, and thank Jim for his masterful composition of this song.

It's that natural, effortless style, both in her voice and in her mannerisms, that make Tori so unusual in today's music scene. (Plus that lovely voice.) Note, though that effortlessness is usually the result of a lot of hard work.

I admit I hesitated to click on the video.. Karen Carpenter is kind of sacred to me.. but I have to say that I am not only glad I clicked but that I am amazed at how close you come to her voice and style.

I consider myself a music "snob"- especially when it comes to any covers of the great Karen Carpenter. I can honestly say that in the 50 years or so since I first heard this song, no one has even come close to matching the GOAT Karen Carpenter in pure talent-until now. This woman's voice, imo, is the best voice, male or female, that I have heard since Carpenter, and pretty much matches it (almost). I have never said this about ANY other cover of the great Karen Carpenter, and most likely never will. This woman is utterly amazing.

Impressive lead vocal and arrangement! Wow! Gets a fraction slow in the middle, or sounds a fraction slow. No matter. This is The Carpenters reincarnated. Thank you!

The sound of Karen Carpenters voice is unique in getting deep into your soul, and was taken too soon. The fact that Tori has those same qualities is unbelievable and I hope that she gets the exposure she deserves and helps in bringing the Carpenters music to future generations

Richard Carpenter should employ Tori to do a Karen Carpenter tribute tour. I know Tori has met him based on her Instagram account. She's absolutely amazing - and great singing, instrumentation and mixing Jim! 👍

Yes, she matches Karen perfectly, doesn't change it for herself, just duplicates the original, excellent

I usually get teary-eyed when I hear an original Carpenter's song, remembering the horrible loss the music world ever endured at Karen's passing. This rendition brought those tears back. I hope Jim and Tori collaborate on more Carpenter's music.

Absolute Masterpiece!! I’ve been a fan of the Carpenters since I was three years old and that is the BEST cover of “We’ve Only Just Begun” that I’ve EVER heard!! Standing ovation to everyone who had a part in this…..you did Richard & Karen proud!! ❤️🎤🎶

DISCLAIMER: I am not a musician. That being said, I can hear differences between original recordings and covers. This includes when the original groups did live performances and they didn't hold up to the studio recording. Jim, et al., you did an absolutely stunning cover on this masterpiece. I was in college when this was released. I was moved then and I was moved again today hearing this. As others have already said, at 74 I was moved to tears. Tori, you nailed it--each of you did! Thank you, each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for this remarkable triumph!

Finally.......a voice that can pick up the mantle from Karen Carpenter.....the most beautiful voice ever. I do not discount Tori's voice because it is comparable to Karen Carpenters.....I admire her for using her voice to refresh songs that were done so well by the original. Her peaceful, relaxed approach is also a reminder of Karen. No one criticizes Michael Buble for reintroducing us to the tunes from great crooners and no should be critical of Tori. Eventually she will show her own originality but she needs to get recognized and amass the support that will allow her to grow. She is wonderful.

Im in my 50s .. grew up on the Carpenters. Cried over her death and how we wouldn't have her around anymore 💔. We've had her music and voice to remember her by. It stood the test of tine and brought back memories of times in our lives that were special when we played her 🎶 music. I NEVER thought i would ever have the honor to HEAR that angelic voice AGAIN in my lifetime. How shocked was I when I heard you singing.. I dropped back in my chair and put my hand over my mouth in SHOCK. 😮Tori .. You are perfection. My ears heard Karen, but my eyes saw you 👀. I dont know if you realize how special this was for those of us who grew up on their music. You are amazing and THANK YOU for this beautiful gift. I wish you all the happiness in the world and for me at least .. it was special to close my eyes once more and listen and feel the emotions of my younger childhood with this song and her music. It was truly moving 😪. . GOD BLESS and I hope you continue to make music and have all the success you deserve ❤️ .

Wow. I'm a huge Karen Carpenter fan and never thought it was possible to even come close. Tori is as good as I've heard. Her range is not quite with Karen, but with some practice I think she could do it. She definitely has the raw talent. Well done Tori!

Wings of Pegasus brought me here. Lifelong Carpenters fan and have seen many impersonators. I got teary eyed upon hearing this. Incredible and even more so, richer and more depth than Karen Carpenter. Go back and listen to the Carpenters version of this and you'll notice Karen going off key and even nasal at times. Tori - you're an amazing talent. I wish you all of the success in the world and can't wait to see where your journey takes you. Absolutely astounding. Bottom line, Tori's perfection has ruined the Carpenters for me. I can't unhear what I've heard today.
