Jimmy was a rebel in more ways than one. He transcended the game. No one played the game with such panache. He was what Elvis was to rock n roll. And like Elvis even 50 years after they still look different , special. There were probably better footballers an hurlers than JBM but no one played the game like him.

As a Wexford man JBM broke Wexford hearts in 76 77 final he was a super player #Respect brilliant player in both codes and as was successful manager of Cork senior hurlers in 2 spells

@@jocosports4523 Doran well marked JBM then JBM was switched on to Mick Jacob my fellow Oulart The Ballagh club man was before my time remember watching it during the lockdown he had a great hurling Brian was listening to mick Jacobs podcast about him mick jacob was outstanding in that game would have loved to have met JBM during my stay in Cork super player
