I discovered Metallica when I was 12 with Garage Days Re-Revisited as I used to be able to play Killing Joke's The Wait on drums as I was introduced to them because of this EP. I was 15 when my mother gave me And Justice For All and The Black Album for Christmas as I sought out Master of Puppets after becoming a Christian. I openly listen to Metallica as I stopped listening to them when they put Load, Re-Load and St. Anger as all three of those albums sucked. I sought out Voivod when Load came out. Deliverance grew on me when I heard their 2007 album as that can hold up to Death Magnetic (as this album rocked.)

He said that this was before Ride the Lightning came out, then it couldnt have been in 1985, because Ride came out in 1984

He technically didn't say that. He had mentioned that Hetfield gave him a copy of "Kill Em All" because that was the CD he had in his possession to give to him during that meeting. Keep in mind that Jimmy called it garbage upon his first listen, so it's not like he was interested in knowing immediately, that Metallica had a second album available at the time. Jimmy doesn't specifically remember the year that "Ride the Lightning" released, so when he finally stumbled upon the album, it was brand new to him. Also, Metallica didn't hit their stride until "Master of Puppets."

I am a Metallica fan and I never liked Kill Em All. The vocals on it actually do suck. I totally see why Jimmy is a Queensryche fan.
