One of the best performances I’ve ever heard. The so called new genius’s take note. What he has can’t be taught at some school.

I’ve made it a point to turn my 13 year old niece and 8 year old nephew on to good jazz guitar on our 20-30 minute ride home from school on the days I pick them up. Jimmy is sure on the playlist of guitarists they’ve heard. I would love to know if he could ever come to Texas as I would like for them to have a chance to see him perform.

That thing Jimmy says about thinking of a circle of tones in relation to C is something I just can't get, maybe my head's not made for it. I feel the same way about the Pat Martino diminished thing. Maybe over time I'll see. I can't ever see myself not seeing tonal centre, and chords/tones based around it. I completely agree with his "five pictures" thing though, I found learning inversions for maj/min/dom 7ths really helped cement that... It's just fragments of the major scale.

........elegante,raffinato, creativo, estroso, come sempre. I miei sinceri complimenti. c.castellano, italia ... ....elegant, refined, creative, whimsical, as always. A Great Artist you immediately recognize it, from the first notes, from the first chords, from those fanciful and harmonious phrases that only a few can perform, arrange and interpret. In other words, Jimmy Bruno is an artist to be placed among the "Grandi dei Firmamento Musicale". My sincere congratulations. c.castellano, italy

Nashville is way overrated. Full of waiters and waitresses with an acoustic guitar in their trunk, in hopes that the entertainer doesn't show up and they get their big break playing in a restaurant. A city full of people writing songs around I,vi, IV, V. No variations. Music city with very few places to play, and none of them paying. Music City = Music Scam. Even the studio scene is falling off. When Brent Mason is doing sessions for songwriters' demos, you know things aren't looking good.
@johnmurphy7762
@johnmurphy7762 Жыл бұрын
Nashville aka "music city ", no longer has a jazz radio station or classical or world. Plenty of country and one Americana type program. Much smaller places have electronic music ,opera, avant garde , bluegrass and world music. Driving through Knoxville I found all these examples on radio. When I was in high-school in Indiana we could get a broadcast of a program of blues music . I think the disc jockey was called J.R. This was late 60s . So it seems that as youtube offers everything;the local scene has stagnated.
