Carter's legacy, from a pilot - He made air travel possible for millions by deregulating the U.S. airline industry. Decades later, European governments finally decided to put people over special interest unions. Prior to Carter via legal price fixing, the public was being milked to subsidize airline employees 200%+ more than the market rate for their product, labor. Ex - Baggage handlers were "earning" $300K+ in today's dollars, about 1/2 a house per year at the time, due extorting the public via government prohibition of competition. Carter also deregulated trucking, making life more affordable for U.S. citizens to this day. Carter is nowhere near the worst president in history. Obama and FDR were the worst and most destructive presidents by a long shot via their Marxist policies.
