It’s really sad that Chuck didn’t care at all about Jimmys side of the story. He knew he got Jimmy where he wanted him, and put him down in the mail room. Chuck wouldn’t even let Jimmy go see his friend after their moms funeral.
@riparoo96752 жыл бұрын
Or this story shows an incredible amount of self-delusion and poor judgement. Jimmy is recounting the story to make it seem like he's the reasonable person, when no person of decent principle or maturity would ever defecate into someone's car. When Chuck picks Jimmy up while he's in chains, even young Jimmy is still in denial and taking the situation casually. Jimmy isn't truly sorry for his actions. He never has been. And that's why Chuck can't stand Jimmy.
@Ohgollyohfuck2 жыл бұрын
Riparoo thats an awful take. After this incident Jimmy cleaned up his entire act- his wife cheated on him with his step father who owed him money, and he reacted emotionally. After this, Jimmy did everything he could in exchange for Chuck bailing him out. More than that, he became a lawyer and retook the BAR multiple times before passing, all to make good on his promise to Chuck to change and do right by him. Its only after Chuck throws it in his face that Jimmy falls back on his old ways. Kim even says as much and its why she falls so hard in defending him and even joins him. I think you’re drastically misunderstanding the tragedy of Jimmy’s character if you write off all his behavior as malicious.
@gerstein032 жыл бұрын
@@Ohgollyohfuck yeah this isn't true. Jimmy was accepting bribes and pulling scams way before he started up with Elder Law. Chuck didn't push him to that. His stint at Davis and Main is meant to show that he'r never be the respectable kind of lawyer like Cliff or Howard or Chuck. He got probably more than he would've gotten at HHM and he didn't enjoy it. He wasn't happy playing by the rules. Look at when Jimmy pays the bus driver to stop the bus so he can have a chat with the old lady. Nobody else questions what Jimmy did. Chuck did. And as Kim states, what Jimmy did does count as solicitation. Jimmy demonstrates a constant tendency to cut corners

@@Ray_D_Tutto I agree, but I also believe in taking responsibility for your actions. He defecated through a sunroof of a car with children in it. It was a mistake, however intentioned: and it's definitely forgivable. Yet in this scene, he defends the action and makes it seem like it was an unlucky break. Like it wasn't an immature and horrendous emotional response. Jimmy hasn't truly processed that what he did is wrong. This is why he doesn't change in Better Call Saul. He can turn new leaves and make the appearance that he's cleaned up: and commendably he always accepts the consequences of his actions. Whether it's making himself seem horrible to rally the elders against him, or diligently managing a Cinnabon with his head down. But if he doesn't truly accept *why* his actions were wrong, he won't truly change. Whether gloating about his time as Slippin' Jimmy to skateboarders, or watching his Better Call Saul ads with pride: he hasn't taken responsibility for what he did wrong.
