I grew up watching Memphis wrestling and will only watch old 1980’s Mempho rassling. One reason was that the show was just funny as shit. It’s hilarious and there were so many funny ass wrestlers in both camps. The tar and feather thing is really classic with me dying in laughter with Lance haplessly trying to stop it to no avail. Best show ever and something that was the product of the era that can never return.

If I'd of been there, I'd of been looking straight at Jimmy Hart, and going Bawk, Bawk, Bawk, Bawk, Bawkkkkkk!!!!! This wasn't just a little funny... this was HILARIOUS!!!!!

I still love watching these old Memphis wrestling clips. I watched most of them when they originally happened. Noon on Channel 22 in Dayton, OH, every Saturday back in the day

Lance Russell kept scolding Jerry Lawler for tar-and-feathering Jimmy Hart...then admits that it was kinda funny. This was a fun segment to watch!

Haha @ he settled the baseball strike. Jimmy Hart was the master at talking shit. Don't know which one was better . . . he or Cornette, because both of them could talk that talk.

That's when wrestling was fun to watch! Lance was the best commentator around back in the day. He could put anything over! Love Eddie Marlin's baby blue suit with the white dress shoes! lol. Love it when Lance says it was kinda funny at the very end.

Lance Russell: Lawler, will you knock that stuff off. Without that STUFF as Russell called it, Memphis Wrestling wouldn't have been what it was. Here's to Yesteryear.

Ol' Banana Nose himself, the GREAT ONE, Mr. Lance Russell! The only real problem I ever had with Lance, was stuff like this. You know:Where he's trying to get Jerry "The King" Lawler to stop beating up on his opponents, and even here, when he Tarred and Feathered Ol' Jimmy Hart! Jerry "The King" Lawyer actually Tarred and Feathered The Dream Machine, too, and y'all wanna talk about somebody that was Screaming Mad! He's all like "Lawlerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! I'm gonna get you, Lawlerrrrrrrrrr!!!!! Get back here, Boy!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna kill you, Lawlerrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! I can only imagine that the Dream Machine might've almost busted a Blood Vessel somewhere in his body! That Ol' Boy was madder than a whole NATION of Wet Hornets!!!!!!!!!! I woulda been screamin' mad, too, if Jerry woulda done somethin' like that to me!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there ChannelExtreme, do you got the video of Jerry Lawler saying to Jimmy Hart in a calm soft tone that he would make Hart's life hell then hitting him then his goons in big out studio brawl? It has not been shown in long, long time,do you know what channel it's on? Peace.

Lawler should have been suspended immediately. The hypocrisy, Jimmy Hart pours a little flower on Lance and gets kicked out. Poor Jimmy had no choice but to head north to see Vince.

I grew up in Charlotte with real territory wrestling in the 70s and 80s, and I'm pretty certain most adults were hip to pro wrestling NOT being real competition. 99% of wrestling fans, however, may have thought it was real. I know I did, despite my dad, uncles, minister, teachers, barber and coaches telling me otherwise. Older fans, like my Grandpa, who were raised on wrestling from 1900-1925 (when it WAS a real pro-sport), especially believed it was real.

In one segment, tho, even The Dream Machine got "Tarred and Feathered"! He stood up, screaming:"Lawler!!!! Lawler!!! I'm gonna kill you, Lawler"!!!!! Needless to say:The Ol' Dream Machine looked like the World's biggest Rooster!!! It wasn't too long after that, that The Dream Machine quit The First Family. He'd gotten tired of having Jimmy Hart constantly push him aside, in favor of other Wrestlers. He was done with it!!!
