I've been to that building where the studio was. I had a friend I was visiting, who lived in Alabama and he took me there. It was cool where people had written on the side door. There were names of bands and artists who had recorded that fans wrote and had drawn pictures. Thanks Brothers and Sisters of the Skynyrd Nation. Brother Gary

Jimmy was a wonderful man. My late husband, Jimmy Ray Hunter, was the lead singer in their band that was started back in 1959. They had kept in touch and visited each other through the years until my husband passed away in 2003. He will truly be missed.

His son is Jay Johnson who played with Rossington Collins band and Blackfoot. Jay used to come to the club my band used to play at every weekend in Pulaski, Tn. He always brought Gary Rossington’s 68 Goldtop LP with him and let us jam on it with him. Great memories!

Jimmy is a good friend and has recently fell into poor health. I wished I could have gotten all of his stories on tape or video. I didn't know the priceless stories I was getting all those times in his home studio office as he went from photo to photo on his computer telling about who the people were and all the sweet details. - Thanks for watching!

webstage I only know Jimmy thru the interviews I’ve read/listened to but, it seems to me if anyone could be defined as a Southern Gentleman it would be Jimmy Johnson.

Jimmy Johnson, bonafide American guitar hero. There's isn't a guitar player on the scene today who's fit to carry his guitar case. She-it!

I worked with Johnny Rivers in Memphis at Kiva Recording Studio back in the early 90's and I loved Johnny Rivers but nobody else seemed to give a shit. He and I spent many nights in that studio trying to write songs for him but he kept on trying to use his old songs titles in every song we wrote and I finally said, "You've got to let go of the past my friend," but he couldn't and that became his legacy. Kinda sad! BTW, Don Nix and I went to Muscle Shoals several times to see if life could be reinserted but found out, "Not from us!" Great players, great people but their time has passed on by but damn what a time it was!!!

I'm trying to figure out who took the picture with Wexler wearing the top hat behind on the wall. The interviewer says it.

At one point he says “you know who took that picture don’t you?”, I think talking about the picture behind him where Charlie Watts is over his left shoulder. What was the answer?
