Jimmy pays tribute to Kobe Bryant the day after he and his daughter Gianna and seven of their friends were killed in a helicopter crash. We take a look back at some of our favorite moments with Kobe from his 15 appearances on our show over the years. Same here. Watched MJ and Kobe a lot. Even when they were battling each other, I did not feel any animosity towards Kobe for trying to beat/emulate MJ. When younger guys was trying to go at Kobe... I find them lacking in a certain mindset. You can just see with their body mannerisms and facial expressions. Conclusion that MJ and Kobe are peas in a pod.

At the very least, we Los Angeles citizens know that he knew we loved him. What so often happens with death is that people feel guilty that someone wasn't appreciated while they were alive. Kobe is a hero in LA and he had to have known that because we were loud, stupid and obnoxious about it.

I'm German and only knew Kobe from seeing him in one early episode of "Modern Family". I was never a big sports fan, but after that episode I saw him on TV like in the news or somewhere, and whenever he appeared on the screen, I got happy. I don't know why, but this man had a talent of making people smile by just existing, just showing up. Just by seeing him. When the news broke of his passing, I hoped so much that it was untrue. I was in shock to find out that it was true and it didn't only take him, but other innocent people, including his daughter. I still smile when I see him. He was such a great guy. He is missed. And will forever be missed, loved and remembered. He's taking care of his big girl up there ❤

He truly belonged to the people. I've had family pass and it didn't hit like this. Here in September 2021 and I still watch these videos to always keep memory alive. I feel the same way bro, I'm a huge Lakers fan, in San Antonio Texas, and it's not easy being a Lakers fan here, especially when Kobe and the Lakers had rivalries with tim Duncan and the spurs. I went to watch them play the spurs every season, Kobe saved the day many times against them. I miss that guy, I wanted to see how successful he was going to be as a coach. He was a great father, and became a great husband.

A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is statistics. No disrespect to Kobe and the family but almost A BILLION animals affected in australia and thousands and thousands of homes and people died. Similar thing happened in Brazil. Just a few weeks ago, A Ukrainian plane crashed in Iraq AND ANOTHER 170 PEOPLE DIED and even yesterday a plane crashed in the ISIS AREA in the middle east. Hundreds die everyday in syria and yemen and now hundreds are dying due to corona virus. I DONT HAVE MORE WORDS.

@@hades773 be the example? i dont understand. i grew up idolizing kobe and wanting to be just like him. reading everything I could, watching games, practicing, and saying "Kobe!" everytime I took a tough or seemingly impossible shot, simply because Kobe did the impossible. I shed a tear because for me, and many others around the world, Kobe wasn't just some celebrity we looked up to, but he was a big part of our lives...just like family. And even though he probably didn't even know I existed, his legacy impacted me in a way that changed my life, and I will forever be grateful. point is, for me kobe was not just a celebrity, but a significant part of my life, and when he died, I did shed a tear because of the impact he had on me. the fact that both he and his daughter died, and his wife and kids lost a father and their sister....how can you not shed a tear? this isn't some movie...this is real life. When you try to feel sympathy for someone going through hardship, try to go a bit deeper and you may find yourself shedding a tear someday for someone outside your family as well. :/

If he noticed they were about to crash, I can’t imagine the feeling of that devoted father knowing the impending loss for his girls.

Guillermo just sitting there, wording "Thank you" and nodding with eyes tearing up, that hurts, even two years later. He knew he couldn't speak, powerful moment right there, and it shows how strong Jimmy was during this show. Here is his hilarious sidekick, Guillermo, who cannot even talk because it hurts so much, and Jimmy finds a way to say heart-felt, touching, coherent, complete sentences.

Its harder because she was a innocent child, who didn't get a chance at a full life. Knowing she died with her daddy who she just wanted to make proud makes it hurt so much more. It really sucks beyond belief.
