The thing I learnt the most out of this interview is how us black folks can have a lack of compation towards mentally ill people in our comunitys, what's happened to jimmel Barnes is truly sad n can happened to any of those OGs who we're once his friends n naw have turned their backs on him, like Jimmy lavender said, you would hope if it ever happened to you that your comrades would be there for u,especially those who knew u when u had all your faculties intact,Mr Jimmy lavender you are a true comrade and a compassionate brother,I hope some of the other OGs see this and hopefully change their stances on jimmel, like I said it could happen to anyone.kev Mac this is another classic one under your belt, really felt this one on a human level for real,it really made me look at jimmel Barnes differently, good work

It’s cool how you getting all these triple OGS on film bro, on the real. I hate to say it but all these godfathers are most likely to be gone sooner rather than later, and I’m glad you are getting them out to the world to share before their time is up. Keep getting as many as you can Kev. Great work, appreciate it and am sure the OGS themselves appreciate you putting their story out for the world to see. I think it’s awesome that many, many future generations can always come back and look at these videos, that are more then just videos now, to be looked at as some real history. All because of what you do Kev this lifestyle will never be forgotten... ✊👊👍👌

The third time I met Raymond Washington on Wadsworth and 98th he was walking wit Jimel in 1979! That morning Raymond was calling me and my friends the baby homies from the Neighborhood and Jimel was yelling, come on Raymond leave them kid's alone!!! And Raymond told us , Y'all think I'm scared of him HUH? Cuz he bigger than me HUH? Then Raymond told us , size don't mean nothing! Then Raymond said , I'm they leader as Jimel and others stopped to wait for Raymond.. Raymond said they bet not drink my beer cuz y'all bought me that beer cuz my friend Adrian used to give Raymond money through the school gate! So Raymond caught up wit them and walked in the middle of the street and called Jimel out as Jimel screamed, Raymond you just tryin to show out in front of them kid's !!!! Raymond took the 40 ounce beer from one of his homies and before he tossed it to his mouth HE RAYMOND LOOKED BACC AT US KID'S AND SMILED!!!! And they marched together down the sidewalk I guess to Raymond's house! The next day Jimel came to the school in the morning and stopped and told us not to talk to Raymond cuz Raymond love people and he be drinking!!! Jimel said u seen it got serious wit me in Raymond the other day ... Jimel said y'all liked that huh and smiled! He asked me was I Raymond's people! You know why I asked you that? Cuz you favor Raymond! Then Jimel walked off and said alright Lil homes!!!! TRUE STORY WORD FOR WORD AS THE TRUE ONE GOD is my witness! 1979 on Wadsworth! 😎

Jimel Barnes was a Crip Gang leader, in the 1970’s, and his gang is still active today. Now.... I can only imagine, but I’m sure that title or position didn’t come easy. Who a man is at 60 is not who a man was at 20. Give credit where it’s due. Definitely interested in seeing a Jimel Barnes interview on here. Or any of the original Avalon Gardens (or young Walnuts for that matter). Anyone who can speak on behalf of his history and leadership and not his present state would be ideal. I appreciate Mr. Lavender for being real and positive. A lot of people are afraid to do what he just did here. I respect that. ✊🏽

Crips started with an open hand slap to Raymond Washington face....Jimmy Lavender thanks for being a TRUE friend to Jimel on the Quick, Quick, Quick, Quick....We need more people like you in this crazy racist world. Jimel might be going through some things now but in his hey day Jimel was a FACTOR. Pervis also said Big James Miller was bullied because he was a big kid. I respect EVERYONE that could stand toe to toe with bullies, especially if the bullies were older and more developed physically and mentally. Those bullies just wanted to control his swag early in his youth because they knew he would be a monster later in life when his mind , skills and game caught up with his physical presence and size. Both Jimel and Big James Miller were true warriors and they pushed the line in each of their hoods without having the backing of older brothers. Jimel not only get my respect but also my compassion. True LEADERS make thier own paths by being true to who they are and its clear that Head Huncho and Jimmy Lavender are TRUE LEADERS by telling the REAL vs jumping on the bandwagon to distort true CRIP / BLOOD history. True History will put Jimel Barnes as a reputable Day 1 OOOG. Remember he did it when it wasn't popular being light skinned which means although he was being hated on, he still was able to pull the baddest bitches in LA and hold his own from the shoulders up.....True Crip Legend.....Give that man his props..... Kev Mac you have a gift and I will always support your mission. SALUTE KM Videos...... Get at me for a REAL donation!!!

Donald, That Part! Big homie, what it is ,is a lot of cats are getting misinformed by people that want to rewrite history and place themselves right there with the info they have heard about over the years and a lot of that was produced by jail house stories that was passed along and has changed from the real story. Watch out! The cameras on!!!😂✌🏾🎧Dj Vegas

Terrell Sanders Jimmy Lavender's story sounds much more official than Cutes's and other OG's that decided to bandwagon and twist the story on Jimel. I feel like it comes down to jealousy, envy, saltiness and embarassment. Alleged mental issue's don't change the history. Gangbanging is crazy anyway right?

Hey Kevin Mac Cuzz, wsup? Yo, Mr Lavender, that's wsup man, mentioning the Wall Nuts. You know my father, Lil Tommie, a Wall Nut and my uncle Big John Seales. No secret that Jamel and John had difference of opinions. But thanks for the mention. I'm gonna let my pops know you through that out there. And also, you mentioned Bulldog. Is that the Bennie Ray Simpson rip Hoover Bulldog or another. My grandmother adopted him as her son years ago. I met him and when I tell you he was standing on my grandmother's steps wanting to fight 9 dudes from 87, he was all but ready....my father told me...they not coming cause they know who he is and what he is about...plus he wasn't gonna disrespect my granny's house...but dam. But again, thanks for that shout out to the Wall Nuts and Big John. Peace out.

Cory Wilkerson Sweetback was an original Westside Crip but they came in 2 to 3 years after crippin began. The Eastsiders from Drew Jr High have the real story about the Bloods / Crips and need those that are still living to tell about it.

Real talk story about Jimel Barnes. I'm from the Imperial Courts in Watts, CA, but I've been living in Fort Worth Tx for 13 years. I was rolling down the street and stopped at a stop sign in Fort Worth and a brother asked me for ride down the street to the store. I said what the hell, he looks harmless so I said come on. Jimel Barnes got in my car and the first thing he said before I said no other words is you a LA n****. I was shocked like how this dude know I from LA. I took him to the 7eleven and we chopped it up. He talked about a movie script he's trying to push and thangs, but you can tell he had some mental issues going on. Jimmy Lavender is perfectly correct in bringing this point out, but I can say this when your with him he's a cool cat. I think I saw him on the streets and gave him rides like twice after that. I promise this story is true.

Thank you Mr Lavender for your personal experiences, please hold your head up through the hate. I got put on in '97 in TX, so far removed from the truth and origins of a name that we did not have any real idea where it was coming from. I believe it is important how connected the early bangers really were. You and Cutes both talking highly of adversaries with respect and truthfulness, to me, is key to helping us all move forward.
