What a legend. Saw him perform in dublin almost 30 years ago. One of the best gigs ever.

Woo, Woo and woo!! Like always just...GREAT. I sow the programm and what can I say??? It was so good to listen to Jim again telling about his life, his family, his music....This song is, I think, the one that can be hear best through you tube, but Ride On that is the one that more people knows ( I know all of them of course), does not sound great, it is thousend times better alive. But thanks to post it anyway Tragamin and thanks to Jim of course!!! and Happy birthday jim...now 35 true?....

I like this even better than the album cut. It’s the authenticity of live acoustic music I think. Lovely, Jimmy 💚

Why should you constantly compare artists with each other? Jimmy, Mary and the Corrs sisters do it on their own. All three versions are serious and therefore equally legitimate.

I liked video. Coz I saw man first time, and he wrote brilliant song. But he's great as the man behind the curtain. Fantastic songwriter for others. Doesn't have the voice or looks, still I admire his songwriting skills for this song.

Does annybody have the version where Jimmy is younger and has two or three lads doing backing vocals. Mary sounds to me like a beautifil lark in his song. Nice to see the fellas with the sleeves rolled up, singing away with cig in hand.

Met up with jimmy mccarthy in the cafe lorca in cork city back in the 80's, a lovely man, ended up in a tangle with the very drunken late great noel brazil, who called me a cunt, fuckin grand days.

If it was a traditional singer' Tubridy wouldn't have them on at all. This contemporary singer songwriter thing is pushed' but better songs are ignored. Why didn't he have Phil Coulter or Liam Reilly on' singing the traditional songs they composed.? It is just R.T.E giving a kick to the tradition' and pushing the modern thing. 😥😢
