I saw him at a small Amphitheater with Alison Krause and his voice is still so beautiful, emotive. At the smaller venues you can get closer to the stage, so the show I saw was a real treat. He has the music in his bones and loves to share it with the audience. If you like this rendition, there’s a DVD with the entire show. It’s fabulous.

I saw them in 1971, I was stationed in Hawaii. My biggest memory of that concert was their rendition of Stairway to Heaven, which hadn't even been released yet. I recently read my journal from that era, for the first time. Here's my entry from 9/17/1971 "Saw Led L. last night. I was quite disappointed, not at any lack of talent but in their selection. Played "That's the Way" and that was my only favorite". At that time they had only released their first 3 albums. Stairway came in their 4th.

I should hope so they have been around since 1968. They don’t exist as a group anymore. I was 16 when I first heard them. Unless your comment was being sarcastic. If so sorry. I love these guys and Black Sabbath. The lead singer, Robert Plant has been recording with Alison Krause, she is a Country Bluegrass singer. Her voice must be an Angel’s voice. What I’ve heard of their stuff together seems a bit off but good.

Say what you want, but still the greatest rock bank that took great blues and made it amazing something but a very few will ever be able to say! ZEP! is King of Rock and ROll, and yes all the bands take from the past to make the future! thats why its called an art in the science of tranquility! something the stones,floyd,couldnt come close with! they are good but never great EVER! Cream was great,Rory Gallagher in Taste was great ! and but a few! Zep is highly thought out raw art so amazing! how these four could make magic! the blues boys of america we all legends who inspired and they got it from folk music of the irish and celtic boats man! so everyone has borrow from everyone! and thats OK! people who complain are usually I find the floyd fuktards who are jealous that floyd the studio produced sound band(engineers should get tha credit) couldnt get the high respect zep got! same with the who, good but never great (aka entwhislte apparently gave them their name zepplin)! When the most liked song in rock history is stairway and everyone learned it , slow danced to it at highschool it will forever be why when a guitar and a voice alone like page and plant can live in infamy forever!!! Way to go guys we love you you are the best of the best! and hope we all party to your songs in Gods greatest realm !
@davidpavelka60543 жыл бұрын
Borrowed the music from so many sources. Much of the lyrics came from combining tokin and Tolkien. Simmer down on the "they're the greatest, no on else comes close" nonsense. I'm a teacher, and one concept I go over frequently is "Fact or Opinion". There's no way to quantify the greatest, other than sales. Another four guys from England own that. There are some high on that list that I don't like, but that is my opinion. The only comments that are more tired than that, in these forums, are "This is real music. Kids today don't know what real music is." We might as well just tell them to get off our lawn.

Totally disagree. Page's change in the guitar is jarring and wildly out of place, the drums are good but don't belong in this song (IMO), and the incredible layering of magic in the original is just not here. It's a nice live recording but the studio version is far superior.
