Stuns me that people on this page get their knickers so in a twist about Jeff dying his hair. Really? The guy's still out there destroying audiences, every serious guitarist still worships at his feet, he's universally viewed as a master virtuoso... and you're bitching about hair dye? Very sad.
@misanthrop19588 жыл бұрын
These people are obviously insanely jealous of Jeff as a guitar genius and the masterful art he has produced in all these years. So they are looking desperately for something negative to say about him. To criticize the fact that he may dye his hair ( at the age of 70!!) shows how poor and pathetic these individuals are...

I first saw Jeff Beck at the Music Hall theater in Boston in 1971. I was a teenager working there as an usher operating the elevator -- transporting stoned hippies from the orchestra level to the theater's upper reaches - and was lucky enough to meet Mr. Beck and his bandmates backstage. A wonderful person whose bravura performance has stayed with me ever since. I anticipate every musical direction of his with the same awe I held in 1971. More than any musician I've heard, Mr. Beck's music can move me to tears, as with "'Cause We've Ended As Lovers," and to sheer joy, as with "Scatterbrain" (especially the version on "Live At Ronnie Scott's"). He is an artist with wondrous, limitless talent. Never stop playing, Mr. Beck. Never stop.

I got to meet Jeff Beck backstage when he played in Dallas around 1970. He never ceases to amaze me to this day. I've played bass professionally since 1972 and Beck was and has been an influence on my career ever since. Jeff Beck is in a league of his own and well deserved. Cheers!

I love that when he reasserted his relevance and his only compromises was more joy for what he did and a sincere smile on his face. No secret he felt as capable as his peers and some resentment of their comparative success, but that’s not what I seen at all last decade at least. This award may have been an impactful one he respected as well affirming a fair number of people turned out. I know his career wasnt always wonderful, but in the later years it was. I describe his performances with Tal as wonderful and incredible comfort and all his showmanship surrounded in skill and a unique voice singing through his instrument. Ear oriented and an incredible improvisationalist exemplified in his articulate use of a trem to a personalized unique style of self expression. High risks and solid resolutions landing the notes exactly as he intended. A truly wonderful player that really can only be contrived to reproduce as all spontaneity hinges on he himself.

It's not a wig. Jeff's hair is probably all grey or white. He does have a scar on the top of his head from the 1969 car accident. Jimmy page and Brian May let their hair go grey. Jimmy still has the baby face. Jeff does not. He would probably look twice his age which he actually looks good at 76! Nobody says anything about Mick Jagger do they? Jeff's a vegetarian and is still in good shape.
@Mac-ix4qp Жыл бұрын
Thinking about his sound, he pretty much stuck to his pure sound, especially with the Strat. Stayed away from pedals, except maybe a wah-wah. Jennifer Batten handled the industrial finger tapping sound on "What Mama Said." He is right about a lot of guitarists leaning on their effects heavily. Tom Morello and Edge come to mind.

Anyway,the first thing he said was Jeff wears a hair piece and i think (don't shoot me) but if you look at him and Ronnie wood,they both have more hair now haha!!!Now let's talk about Richie Blackmore's wig!!!!
@LBrilliante10 жыл бұрын
yes zofo NOW IT CAN BE TOLD... we all want to be young forever.. but 70 year old men do not have manes of long brown or black hair .. so bless Jeff and all the others but NO... it's a wig y'all!!! Don't matter... Jeff has a full time vegetarian cook on staff wherever he goes and he looks damned fantastic for a dude in his 60s so he is a lesson to us all.. take care of yourself and health!!! Jimmy Page dealt with a lot of illness as a youth and that little diversion into becoming a rock and roll God didn't exactly help matters so he's the other side of the coin. Oh well... while both men are still here they need to STOP going to awards shows and START selling tickets to see the two of them performing on GUITARS for an audience that would love to see 'em put it together.
