Jimmy's AE86 Trueno (4K) | StreetVanguards

One of the most iconic cars to be seen is undoubtedly the Toyota AE86 Trueno. With the rise in popularity of anime all around the world, Initial D was created to display the world of street racing in Japan. For most of us growing up in the 90's, this became one of the most influential reasons to why many of us are so passionate about car culture. We all grew up watching this series, and to some of us who were lucky enough to own an AE86, there's always some sort of nostalgic homage back to the series.

Man I love these cars. I have owned 2 but life keeps making me get rid of them. I will get another someday, and NEVER get rid of it. I have owned s13, s14, 98 Camaro, FR-S... NONE of them feel as incredible as the AE86! It has a soul like no other.

Panda's definitely do seem pretty played out, but it's all in good homage to Takumi. It's funny cause all 3 AE86 owners I know are all painted white but all have different types of builds.

If Toyota decided to revamp the current GT86 and had their design team create a "neo-retro" AE86 and ditch the flat 4 to an inline 4. I suspect their factory won't be able to keep up with demand. The practicality of a hatch, retro 80's inspired looks and sweetly balanced RWD platform. I'm hoping they will see the light when the current 86 runs its course in 2020!

I just want to point out that while it practically is an ae86, it isn't. It's the American market version or the ae88 which has less hp. Not hating just pointing it out so people know what they're really looking at. Otherwise this is a dope car and great video. Very well done!

Jeffrey Samuels This IS an actual AE86. It’s a USDM AE86. You see AE88 on a GTS VIN or AE86 on a SR5 VIN, but all USDM AE86s were stamped “AE86” on the firewall, which therefore, confirmed by Toyota, is an AE86.

I'm disappointed anyone still brings that shit up. That's misinformation, they are in fact, ae86's. There's no such thing as an ae88, it was only put in the vin to differentiate the GT-S from the SR5. It only has less hp because of U.S. emissions standards. If you replace the AFM with a MAP sensor and (possibly) the JDM 4age ecu, you'll get that hp back. I once had some dipshit tell me I didn't own an ae86 because it didn't have a 16v, lsd, or disc brakes in the rear. DON'T BE THAT GUY! Fucker tried to tell an old lady (mid 50's) swapped the firewall on my ae86, because what I had wasn't an actual ae86.
