I remember once in 1978, Sandy was reading Spark Plugs after qualifying and I saw this Nice Ring on his finger, so I asked him where he got that and he said he had gone to a Bible college and that's where he got it. I only helped Jimmy 4 or 5 times maybe, but got to know Hippie and a couple of the main Huntsville crew guys. All of them were great guys !!

I wonder if Mr. Jones remembers Jimmy's Cup Laguna/Malibu that got wrecked at Talladega in 1978, front clipped & raced again. I later owned that car after the Cup cars were downsized for 1981. We sanded down 2 or 3 layers of paint to find a yellow car with Jimmy's trademark black hood with "Thompson Industries" (Huntsville Alabama).
